"Compliments Journal"

My customer wrote ”...took great care of me. She was also very knowledgeable about all my questions. It’s nice to have nice, smart staff working for you.”

The hostess at California Pizza Kitchen complimented my jacket. It’s new, and a style I’d normally not really wear but I actually like it a lot. She asked if it was Dior, and that just made my night because I am trying to change (develop) my dress style – and it kind of shows I’m succeeding in choosing more classic pieces.

Oh and people on dA have put me on their watch (only a few but since I’m super new to it, it made me happy)! I love comments.

1. My sister told me that she thinks I have a photographic eye. I’m treasuring that compliment.
2. a drunk, elderly man with a CHICKEN ON HIS SHOULDER told me that I look like a model. I’m not taking that one too seriously, but it made me smile. :)

My trainer at work said she loved my personality.

My boss e-mailed me today (on Sunday) that he thinks really highly of me. It was the kindest mail.

on my goal do my hair and makeup more there is a user who left me a comment and said “though for the record, you don’t look like you need any makeup. :)”
it basically made my day!
so, thank you over and over again!!!

The teacher for today’s (or rather, yesterday’s as it was Thursday) class told me he might ask some people to redo the board we did. So I probably had a concerned look on my face but then he goes and tells me that he really liked mine. He said it looks great, with good images, and good layers, as well as being neat. Whoo!!

Okay this one doesn’t count but I gave myself a compliment today :p. We had to cut foam core boards and I thought I was doing a pretty good job of clean cutting. My friend was like, “You’re proud of yourself, aren’t you?” And I go, “Yeah because I was really terrible at it last quarter.”

I held the elevator door open for someone (much longer than necessary) because the elevators in the building are known to be slow and she was so surprised. She exclaimed, “That is so nice of you!”

I have received many compliments since I last wrote and have ben just too busy to write them all down.

I made a matching beaded anklet for my friend Marina, who works for NARAL Pro Choice Massachusetts, she told me she hasn’t taken off her, “beautiful ankle bracelet” since Saturday, awww, this made me feel so good. She writes the best emails ever.

Now Becky, one of the NARAL volunteers also, wants me to make her one. She invited me to go along to Roxy’s on Tremont Street to see Kaiju Wrestling, it was nice and I laughed at how the “creatures” ^wrestlers in costume battled one another and came out afterwards for pictures…

Last night in floral design class, my instructor liked my design, except the stems could have been longer but overall it was good. This is anadvanced class so she is very critical of our work, LOL but it made me feel good coming back to this.

I received some other compliments from Stacie two weekends ago about, all you do for NARAL Pro Choice, and “my enthusium is contagious.” THis made me feel really good.

My Beading Instructor Liz, loved the pink colored bracelet for Alison that I made when I was picking up more supplies and my sister liked all the hard work I did on my dad’s yard. I cleaned up and cut back all the weeds and flowers so it looks nice.

Finally, my therapist Karen told me, “you have many gifts…you should be proud of your beaded jewelry designs…post the pictures on your wall to remind yourself of what you accomplished so far and how far you have come…” That was great hearing all of that.

The book editor at work told me today that my Hallmark book, Life Is Good At Grandma’s, sold great for Mother’s Day!

And they got 2 complimentary letters from grandmas (both from Australia, oddly) saying how much they liked the book!

One of them said, “You always wonder if all the things you do for your grandkids get noticed”...and getting the book made her feel like yes, they are noticed and appreciated. The other one said, “I’m sure this was written by a grandma.” The book editor noted, “I hope you take that as a compliment!”

Since my writing job at HMK is all about trying to understand what it’s like for different people, I definitely took it as such.

I was thrilled because her opinion means a lot to me because she’s my photography hero.

And J told me I had “Renaissance hair” and this is partly just to record how cool she was because most of D’s girlfriends haven’t been that friendly the first time I’ve met them.
