Seems like a good mix of strength, endurance & cardio. We even have a nice training loop in the neighborhood.

Hubby & I went on our first trip to Sipsey Wilderness Area last weekend. I loved being back in the woods… the sounds, the scents, the visuals. We’re going back this summer for sure because there were at least a dozen little swimming holes with soft sandy beaches… in shades of aqua & sea green! It’s AMAZING! 2 years ago

L CGetting better...

Taking care of myself & getting healthy turned out to be a much better goal than losing weight.

After more than a year of compromised immune function, I’m on the mend. It’s weird, but when my immune system got better, the weight started melting off. I’ve lost 15 pounds without even trying. 2 years ago

My living situation is still unhealthy.
I have decided to rent out a room in this grand house I can barely afford to keep. I will be losing some privacy, but my door still has a lock, so, this is the first clear step towards moving, having people over, paradoxically funny:-))) 4 years ago

L CChanging up our diet...

Hubby’s doc suggested some changes that, for me, basically mean eating less red meat & simple starches. He’s finally taking my pleas for more fish & occasional vegetable proteins to heart. Yay. 4 years ago

L CDoc says it's time...

for me to go back to the gym, but instead of starting with a bodybuilding program, he suggested that I focus on endurance for at least a few months. The immediate target is 30-45 minutes of either fast walking or circuit training 3-5 times a week. So far I’ve had two days of walking & today was my first circuit training class. It was tougher than I thought it would be - which may be proof that it’s the right place to start.

Hopefully, before 2011, I’ll be back on a regular weightlifting program, only this time I think I’m going to hire a good trainer to get me started. I’ve lifted for most of my life, so I KNOW what to do, but I tend to push myself hard, and that’s not going to work in my favor while I’m bouncing back from a year of illness. 4 years ago


I am really into this now. I din´t even pause on Chisrtamas and did a great worout Jan 1st.
I did not meet my Yoga goals, but alas, I did not have a guru to guide me trogh it, so I need to look for classes that are easily reachable and affordable. I trust 2010 I can get a Yoga master! (Or will the Yogui get me?) 4 years ago

I think my exercise and health goals have also shaped up a better finantial future for me. I have not yet given up smoking, but have much reduced the qt of ziggies, as I am exercising a lot more, even walking large distances. I am really glad I added this goal because it is not about thin, is about fit and energized. It is about battling stress and about life and laughter, enjoy!

Only 2 workouts this week, but had a great class of Pilates on Saturday, I think I might have found my Pilates Teacher. 4 years ago

I bought this tiny shrimp (frozen and pre cooked, only stimied it a little, mayo and ketchup (sugar free) and half juice of limón (mexican lime). Serve with baked nachos, lovely Sunday breakfast! 4 years ago
