I still go to karaoke from time to time – but not much these days. I still sing at church, but since Christmas I have not spent as much time at home so I can’t help out at church as much to lead singing.
With the season changing to autumn (fall) has come some problems with my throat glands swelling, the colder weather affects my fibromyalgia/arthritis and and in turn that affects my breath control and singing. I have a lot of tension in my throat presently (and last Sunday I did a lousy job of singing in church because of it).

Singing for the seniors once a month.
Singing at one nursing home once every 2nd month.
Started to sing monthly at another nursing home.
Do a monthly jam session with a group interested in folk and acoustic music.
Sing weekly at church. 5 months ago
I’ve started singing regularly at 2 nursing homes and a seniors social group, plus I’m still singing weekly for a disabilities group. 7 months ago
It seems to help calm scared cats and kittens.

Second lesson last night; spoke with a friend yesterday who is in the Atlantic Voices choir, which sounds like fun. Maybe after my voice development in medieval/Gregorian chant I’ll switch to singing sea shanties and drinking songs!!!

I signed up to join the Chorus Eccleasiae…. I can’t even spell it! But we will sing Gregorian chants, Byzantine chants… in the open house we read medieval notation within one hour! Sacred choral music. This is with Lawrence Harris, widely known as an expert in Gregorian chant. Hold on to your hats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I start tonight! 2 years ago

I finally went to a community singing tonight; it felt so good; I love it; it has to be a priority in my life, but I don’t want to make a weekly commitment to it cause I am already married to folk dancing and nothing will take the place of that, and twice/week commitments is too mcuh, so I have to find another drop-in casual place to sing! 2 years ago
