I feel like if you’ve got the “itch” to cut your hair really short, it will never go away until you actually do it, so you might as well get it done! Hopefully, you already have a good stylist who won’t “let” you get an unflattering style done… I wouldn’t have a stylist I’m seeing for the first time cut off all my hair. I also feel like this is a good thing to do before you feel like you “have” to have short hair… say, when you are 60+
Like I said, it’s good to get it out of your system… it’s not a fun thing to grow it out, but at least when go through that (assuming you’ve not kept your hair short) it will help you decide whether or not to do it again (based on the short haircut’s fabulousness)!
My parents loved my hair short: which kind of bugged me! Boyfriend: hated it. One other possible plus: with a short haircut, I was able to go into barbershops (cheaper than beauty salons) for a trim. I suppose you can do that with long hair, but I never did.

I wanted Meg Ryan hair since high school and it took until my 3rd year of college to do it. It was the best decision Ive ever made. I feel sexier and more like my self than when I hid behind my long locks. BE FREE! It grows back!

Ya…I had my hair cut into a short, choppy bob and dyed it red. Woo! I loved my hair, but now I’m growing it long again. I just can’t stick with one style…I have to change it every few months. But getting a short haircut is well worth it; it often makes you more confident, because short haircuts can be very versatile and extremely flattering. Go for it!!!!!!!

i got my hair cut. short. pixie cut short. it was definitely worth doing! it wasn’t the best haircut (in my opinion) but it made me realize that i can’t always focus on my appearance to hide behind or to make impressions for me. i felt it helped me grow into myself better, without a security blanket. its also a nice change, to give yourself a new perspective on life.

I always wear my hair short but had been on a grow-it-out-to-one-length kick for a while, leading to messiness. With a big fun dressy party on the horizon for this past Saturday night, I took advantage to not only get a super short spiky cut but also got it colored for the first time ever…now it’s a neat auburn brown that only really pops out in sunlight or the right inside lighting, and short and spiky enough that guys on my shift at work were teasing me (but all the lesbians gave me compliments so I know I am reaching the right demographic). The guys shut up when I told them I get more action with my haircut than they get with theirs…(I didn’t use the word action, I used a two-syllable word that they relate to better…)
Anyway I’m totally loving my new haircut!

But I cut it short again before I left for Iraq—it was much easier to deal with and cooler in the extreme heat of summer. I really like this short haircut though, and have received so many compliments on it that I am thinking of keeping it short. But my husband’s already asked me when I will grow it back out again.

yakuza ok, back again for a while.
Since I’m a guy, and I’ve shaved my head before, but people have said that I have a nicely shaped head. Perhaps I’ll shave it again soon.
