be confident enough to get a short haircut

I shaved my nipple length hair off. Not a great idea. Go for it, Think of all the money you’ve sved…Wait, is this one only for girls?

I just cut it short…by MYSELF, oh man! Yup, took teh shears adn chopped it all off, chin length now. And dyed it green the same night…well, it was supposed to be blue, but you know…that’s a different story.

The first time I cut my hair really short I also dyed it bright purple, then blue, then platinum blond (I thought I looked quite punk). Then I got into a relationship with a guy who wanted me to grow it, so I did.

A few years later I cut it off short again, right before I broke up with that guy. I wore it short for a while, and then several people told me I looked like a chubby teenage boy, so I decided that I looked better with a longer style.

If I drops some pounds and my face slims down a bit, I might cut it short again. I don’t mind looking a little bit butch.

but it is two inches shorter… and layered… and I’m VERY happy with it! I actually think this is the first time I haven’t cried after getting my hair cut! Yes it is still long (just about to my elbows now). If it gives you any idea, everyone at the salon was commenting on how LONG and pretty my hair was after being cut. Still I don’t think it being long undermines how BIG it was for me to let someone take scissors to my hair. I think part of the reason it has been so hard for me to go to the salon is because doing so involves trusting another and giving up control-both of which are far from easy.

All in all, I am still very attached to my long locks, but now I am actually happy to be attached to them.

I’m getting my hair cut this weekend. I have let this go long enough. I caught a glimpse of myself from the back at the mall yesterday and that convinced me: my hair couldn’t look worse…

I think I may go tomorrow. It may not be “short.” But Hell, it will be “shorter.”

My hair has gotten WAY too long. It is right above my ass now. I must get it cut!
