run in the rain

It helps you let go, I don’t know why.

I did this when I was about nine years old. It was winter and it was pouring fiercely, so much so that with each descending drop of rain, my skin stung.

I recall my wanting to race my mother in her car down the street to our former home and so I got out of the car, opened my umbrella and began sprinting. Almost immediately, the powerful gusts of wind caused my umbrella to invert and I was completely drenched within seconds. Nevertheless, I continued running but it was incomprehensibly difficult to run against the wind, not to mention, my umbrella was still inverted and it was pulling me backwards. With each passing moment, it became more and more tedious to run and simultaneously maintain a grip on my umbrella. It was as if the wind was desperately trying to jerk it out of my hands.
Being a rather weak child back then, the forces of nature succeeded and I watched in horror as my favourite umbrella was hurled into the air and bounced up the street in the opposite direction. Needless to say I bolted right after it.

I must have looked like a crazy person, running around in the rain, chasing an inverted umbrella. I was panicking but laughing at the same time, it was so much fun. There’s something strangely liberating about running in the rain. It’s been eight years and I still remember this experience. It was definitely worth the weather-induced cold.

Oh and I never did end up catching my umbrella..I wonder where it flew off to?

I kind of did this I was on a early finish at work and when I got outside the most almighty rian storm came down I had to leg it to my car so I ran in the rain kind of it was fun and it makes you feel like a kid again i’ll go for it properly next time lol.

Did it today and it was GREAT!!!
I definitely wanna do this again.

It IS fun. Whenever you have an opportunity- do it. Be it a street or your backyard.

I just think it would feel like it was washing away all the stress to leace you feeling happy.
I used to do this when i was a kid in the garden i think i’ll try it again next time it rains and that wont be long in sunny england lol

i love rain!

There is something refreshing and invigorating about running in the rain, however after 30 minutes it’s not that much fun.

Its fun. My family thinks I am crazy, but since they haven’t tried it they can’t be expected to understand.
