do this more?!
I packed up what I needed and had a beautiful walk by myself taking a route I’d never been before. It started out clear but became misty and it was strange not to be able to see familiar landmarks. And not much of a view from the top either! But there was an ethereal beauty to it and I was quite safe as most of it was on well-marked trails. I did get a bit lost at one point but I was well-equipped so soon found my way back to where I needed to be … that was a nice little adventure!
And then I did it all again with my sister. So now I want to find a new route for next time. 5 months ago
how much I love walking up the mountains. Our mountains in Dublin are what many people would call hills I guess, we are not talking Everest here! But they are beautiful and the views take my breath away.
I just did about an hour or maybe a little more and it was exilharating and exciting and best of all I had lots of energy left in the tank – I felt a bit out of breath for the steepest bit, especially since it was so windy, but I was still able to keep a conversation going.
I think I need to increase my stamina and fitness before I join a club so hopefully the jog/walk programme I’m doing will help. And I’ll go for long walks when I can too. It would be great to hike with a group/club – that way I’ll get to find lots of new routes I’ve never been on before.
So my next step is to start assembling some decent kit whenever I see bargains. 17 months ago
