Kesa Desi-RayIt's the seed of my goals

The majority of the plans I have in my life all start from this one plan. It doesn’t matter if it takes me two or five or ten years. As long as I know in the end I will have it.

But it will take a lot of hard work and saving up. 10 months ago

I think we’re actually talking about buying land just to sit on it until we can afford to put a house on it…which was the original plan, yet somehow, I knew Mike wanted to make that THE plan. With him graduating in the summer, and me working a full time job in title insurance, sure, maybe we could afford it…but only barely. Things would be so tight money wise that we’d never get out of town. Ever. And while I think this would be a wonderful place to move back to, I have aspirations that are much larger than this town allows. I’m ready for an adventure, to start doing what I WANT to do, am good at, AND get paid for it! =) I just didn’t want to buy land so that we could build a house, and then move away because I KNOW I don’t want to be doing title insurance forever. It’s been wonderful—a good, steady job with good people,(which a lot of people are having a hard time saying nowadays)with an IRA, AND benefits, even knowing I play roller derby! They insure me knowing I could break something, and they still want to know when I’m playing in my first game! =) I should just focus and use the resources I have at hand to make the best of everything until I can make a change myself…I’m changing this goal to be “Just buy land.” Building a house will come later. =) 16 months ago

speedy larryBuy some woods

I owned 31 acres of land in the Catskill Mountains of NY.
Sold it just before the real estate crash.
Soon I will be looking for another lot of about 20 acres of woods.
To have fun camping or maybe just run around naked. 2 years ago

nmaglicicLand in Wallara Waters

Today I went looking at house and land packages in Wallara Waters in Wallan. Land there on it’s own is about $150,000.
House and land packages start from the $360,000 + mark.
Since I’m not a 1st home buyer I need to get rid of most of my debt and increase my savings before I can get a loan as I’m not entitled to any government grants.
The bank has told me that I need to reduce my car debt to $15,000. Pay all of my credit card debt off and have savings of atleast $18,000 and they will lend me approx $360,000. 2 years ago

R HennessyChange in plans

At first, this goal was part of a larger plan of buying land in the Capital Region, and building a Rocio Romero house to live in. Now my ideas have changed, we bought a house in Cohoes, and I have gotten into the idea of urban living and revitalizing existing downtown infrastructures instead of building new. That seems like the responsible (environmentally and definitely financially) and right thing to do. So, since we bought a house, you could say technically, we do own the 25’ wide by 100’ long piece of land underneath it.

But I am keeping this goal because I still hold on to this sick belief in becoming one of those dreaded second home owners, which I admit goes against all of that urban living philosophy. How great would it be to buy a plot of land in the Thousand Islands and plop a Wee House down on it? 3 years ago

shades_of_autumnInstallments Finished!

2-years have easily gone by without me noticing it much. Last month, I’ve finished the 24-month installment payments for the 151 sq.m. land last.

All that’s left is to sign the Deed of Sale and pay the transfer fees. ^^ 3 years ago

perhamparrotheadI'm going to be a landowner!

Well they counteroffered 3 grand over my offer, and I declined, but they later called and told me that they’d accept my original offer!
Closing date is the 16th of January! I am going to be a landowner at the age of 21! I am so pumped! 4 years ago
