Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Rhonda Reynoldsanxiety

I’m new to this site and found it when doing a presentation for school and coping with fear. It said that there were just about every problem and answers you can think of. My anxiety started when I started school last fall, the nervousness of it killed me and still is. I also have a big family problem which I cannot discuss but the uncertainty of the future is a big trigger for me. I am trying so hard to get therapy but as soon as I get a what seemed to be a qualified therapist, she took my family background and because there is alot of drug users and those on meds and mental institutions for one she said I couldn’t take the medicine i do!! I have no problem with it actually nothing seems to help me, I’ve tried klonopin even and that did nothing so I felt the next step was to find a therapist and group therapy but it is really hard to find! My teachers who are mostly doctors seem to give the therapy that is great! like cognitive behavioral therapy or psychotherapy and they say they never tell a client what to do! why do all the therpaists I find just care that I drink a bottle of champagne a week – just one bottle (3 glasses) as it gives me the only relief I can find. I don’t abuse it but still, that’s always a big deal for them and I just want them to teach me how to relax!! I have a book that teaches tons of stress relieving excercises but none seem to work for me, i feel nothing can help. I know excercise is good but I can’t run.. I guess I’m lazy but I just hate excercising so bad! we are poor and have no money to do things so i sit on the couch all day and night and watch tv. I am on this site to see if anyone can relate to me or help me. I am reaching out! somebody help me please!! thank you! 4 years ago

FabriellaI want to prove that I can attract abundance into my life.

I bought Joe Vitale’s book – ‘The Attractor Factor’. My personal view is that the book is both fantastic and inspiring. However, although I truly believe that we all have the ability to improve our lives using the power of our subconscious, I need to find the time to practise meditation with a view to attracting abundance into my life whilst attempting to reduce anti-social behaviour and crime levels in my local community. See chapter 19, Intentional Meditation Foundation. 6th March 2009 5 years ago

Agasaurus RexSo far, so good :)

the whole thing with suggestive thinking seems to be proving itself true quite quick – i found a great place to move into within a week of setting (really setting) my mind to it! Looks like ‘09 is starting decent, gonna have to stick to all that positive thinking stuff, no choice now :)
Making a list of goals helped a lot too. 5 years ago
