Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Live. Laugh. Love.Untitled

I’m taking the GED writing test on the 27th. I’m going AWOL on Facebook and on my phone as much as possible so I can study even harder!!! 2 years ago

I took a post-test a couple of days ago for the GED in Language Arts: Reading and only got 22/50, which is what I started with.

Yesterday I took a practice test for Language Arts: Writing and got a score of 41/50 for Part I (multiple-choice) I started with 35/50, but only 2/4 for Part II (the essay).

I’m going to start studying harder so I can get my GED! 2 years ago

I’m picking up the pace and spending more time studying. I’d love to be learning algebra by summer. I need to make that happen! 2 years ago

I’m planning to take a practice test tomorrow to see how good I’m coming along in my math for my GED studying. :) I did struggle today with certain word problems, which is unfortunate because I want to be great in math! I guess I just have to keep practicing. 2 years ago

I’m going to class up to 3x a week (excluding holidays) from now on so I can get my GED.

I’m also going to be studying more at home so I can keep everything fresh in my brain. 2 years ago

Today would have been such an easy day to blow off. It was only math today. I don’t even need to open the textbook to understand the material being taught. No test today, no quiz, no homework due. I could have said fuck it and skipped. But today I decided to be good and go to school. But I wasn’t all good. I left class halfway through. Ah well. It’s a start! 4 years ago
