i found that one of the main reasons i bite my nails is the absence of a nail-cutter! Should have one in both my office and home 14 hours ago

but I did not chew them out of boredom, rather I think I chewed them because they were uneven and had a snag in them or something.

Starting today I am going to keep nail clippers on me at all times. That way, I will never chew them off due to some annoying little inconsistency. 1 day ago

There are a few ways I might go about this. One, is will power, but I’ve seen how poorly that works for me. Two, is relax and not stress out so much… but that’s a separate goal.

The third idea seems most likely to work. Once I did have a manicure and had fake nails put on. I didn’t bite for weeks. I think that might be the best rout. 2 days ago

It is a nerves thing. And it gives me something to do sometimes. Last time i stopped biting my nails, i replaced it with drinking/sipping water. This also worked for stress, or emotional eating. Nowadays it’s a bit of boredom eating too. Anyway, i’ll say EVENTUALLY to this one. Might not tackle it just now.

I have noticed that I seem to bite my nails when I am nervous/anxious about something.

ChrisChew gum!!

Chewing gum has helped me massively – your brain knows you’re already ‘biting’ and so doesn’t feel the need to bite your nails. Think about it, do you usually bite your nails when you’re eating? No. It’s only when your mouth is unoccupied. Chewing gum keeps it occupied and stops you biting. Try it, it works! You do of course need to have gum with you at all times, so stock up. When you notice you’re biting – stop and start chewing gum immediately. Good luck! 3 weeks ago

I need to stop biting my nails. Luckily I think I have the perfect inspiration…these super awesome dr who nails. Since I don’t like the idea of acrylic nails I have to wait until my nails grow out to get them…

After they are long enough I will get a nice tardis galaxy manicure. 4 weeks ago
