Man, I had a great story for 2012. I love writing it every day and had no trouble meeting my goals.

Right up to the point that I went to a community write.

The participants were loud and obnoxious, the mini-goals were stupid, and I didn’t bring ear plugs like the experienced folks. Starting that night, I simply couldn’t force myself to write much at all. I quit at 12,000 words.

I am going to outline this story again for 2013 and am going to complete it this year. 4 months ago

Was so close to starting this year. Well, I actually did. One sentence. And it was a good one. But Life got ahold of me and other things needed attention. 5 months ago

It seemed like at times I’d never get there, and it took me so long to actually get into my story and write it because I wanted to not because I had to – but I did get there. Although I’m probably never going to revisit this story, and I won’t ever let anyone else read it, I feel a real sense of achievement for having done this, having not finished writing anything sizeable since I finished university in 2003.

I’m hoping that now I will be encouraged to write more, and who knows, I might even finish one of the four novels I’ve already started?!

I say I most definitely whole-heartedly attempted completing Nano until this point. So I “did” Nano and perhaps am grateful the goal wasn’t “I will WIN Nano” :P

but honestly I’m in a full-time crazy crazy grad school program at the end of the semester, end of the classroom portion and now to drop kick you out into the world as a burdensome student peon and free labor!! and so forth, and I really desperately stuck to my Nano dream anyway but did acknowledge a little reality that it may not happen this year.

Or rather.. this month.

I am finished with finals December 6th and do not start in peon status until next January 7th. Therefore… I am making December a replacement November nano month. Yep. No, no joyful wrimos but I’m a bit of a lone bird anyway… a little already isolated and not into social networks but this one, obviously as I write this. So I think I’ll give it as full-fledged an effort, and hey… I could win this one!! ;) 5 months ago

I’ve finished my story! Only problem is, I’ve got 1846 words to go! Time for some flowery embellished prose, I think. :-) 5 months ago

For the first time since beginning NaNoWriMo I’m now just over par. With 3 days to go I’m cutting it fine but I’m determined to get there. 5 months ago

Today, for the first time, my counter on my NaNoWriMo page said that my predicted finish time would be November 30th. With 9,398 words to go, I’m starting to think there might be a chance I’ll actually do this. Yay! 5 months ago

Slowly catching up… don’t think I’ll make it to 50,000 but I might get close. 6 months ago
