Amateur tournament to start. 4 months ago
Entries from everyone
I played well in this tournament, but I made some bad decisions near the end. This is the first tournament I’ve played in a while, but I hope to play more often in the future. 9 months ago
I finished second tonight, which won me a free entry into another poker tournament. I was very happy with the way I played. I was aggressive but not crazy. I really love watching Poker After Dark and tournaments on TV. Believe it or not, I think watching these programs has actually improved my game. 13 months ago
this is gonna take a lot of work and luck but its absolutely doable. commit time to cash games every week and i should get there soon enough 2 years ago
In my long weekend in Las Vegas, I did pretty well for myself. I won $180 the first night, $190 the second night, lost my $125 buy-in to a poker tournament, then lost $460 in the Bellagio over the course of about 30 minutes. My last stop was the roulette wheel, where I won $225.
If you do the math, my net result is that I won $10 on my trip. Seems like a lot of work for nothing.
But in reality, I had a fantastic time, met some great people, and it cost me virtually nothing.
OK, back to the point of this post. The poker tournament is the part of the weekend that intrigued me the most. There were some very interesting dynamics going on at that tournament. I think I have some room for improvement, but could certainly learn to play well enough to eventually win a tournament. This could take some time.

I played my first WSOP event (event 2) last May… it was the largest field for any tournament other than the WSOP Main Events. It was quite the experience. I made it to the second day and ended up getting a little more agressive once I made it into the money… I checked raised all in with a double belly buster straight draw and two overs… dude went in the tank and finally called me with a open ended straight draw and an ace… he caught and I didn’t. Wouldn’t have changed a thing.
My goal is to play more major tournaments (WPT and WSOP circuit events) in 2009 and to hopefully, at least, make a finally table. 4 years ago
