I didn’t realize it, but I have been slowly eating less sugar. I’ve given up soft drinks again (for like, the fifth time this year) and don’t plan on having another until the holidays. Several times I’ve denied myself a candy bar. But I still have little self-control when sugar is staring me in the face. Like today. My mom gave us left-over cake from my little sister’s party, and over the course of the day, I had four pieces. FOUR PIECES. I have NO self-control! I need help!
So I’ve stopped buying refined sugar for our pantry, and I’ve stopped buying random candy bars and Dr. Peppers… I need to take the next step & start eating smaller portions. 7 months ago
My goal for this year is to stop eating foods with refined sugar in it. So far it’s not working out well for me. 13 months ago
I am not sure what to switch to. I’ve CUT BACK on eating refined sugar. So, almost no sweets, almost no soda. Basically I only have a soda if it is given to me for free by a waiter/waitress (which happens sometimes in South Korea). But after not eating sugars for a couple days, I have started to drink Gatorade after training. So, I don’t intend to completely stop eating refined sugar. 3 years ago
3 weeks done! I’m pretty sure I’ve kicked the candy and soda addiction. I’m going to relax a bit on this and do things like muffins (gluten-free, of course) and whatnot, but still stay away from soda and candy most of the time. 3 years ago
My definition of refined sugars might not match up with what other people think of, but the list of “OK” and “not OK” sugars is very clear in my mind. I’ve been avoiding regular white sugar, but not evaporated cane juice, for example. I stopped eating sugar 2 weeks ago, along with dairy and soy in an attempt to decrease pain. It’s been going well so far. I’m keeping track of this over on my 21 Days blog: http://21daystopangie.wordpress.com/ and I plan to mark this as a success when I reach the end of the 21 days. 3 years ago
