Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

TRYumphMoneyball extra

I was a movie extra in Moneyball with brad pitt and jonah hill. It doesnt come out till next year though. It was cool. I just didn’t realize how long the days would be because they reshoot the same scenes like a million times(ok maybe im exagerating a little) but there was a lot of down time too when they would look at what they just shot after they shot it. Overall good experience. Wonderful cast. The baseball players were pretty hott too.. talked to a couple of them so that occupied some of my time. 4 years ago

smithmeisterUKOne day

Just a small part, stood in the background behind the main characters, don’t have to speak or anything, just to be there on the big screen for a fleeting moment would be a dream come true.

Perhaps I should crack on with the screenplay/s I want to write then I could negotiate a walk on like Hitchcock! 6 years ago

I don’t know why but i just want to.
I have to do dumb standardized testing right now!!!

I think it would be so cool to be an extra in a great movie. you get to go behind the scene’s but you dont have to learn all the dialogue the main actors do 7 years ago

erikacarlsonExtras needed!

It’s really, really cool!
I’ve done it for some local productions and small movies and most of the time you don;t do more that hang out for hours and hours. But if you are passionate about film making like I am, it’s worth it. I got to know a lot of producers and actors and at the network you make is amazing.
Everyone should try it! 7 years ago

I’ve consulted on movie sets but never have been in a movie. I just want to be the guy that walks across the street. 7 years ago

I’m on TV next week – as an extra about Jack The Ripper, through a contact at my drama group!! Excellent! 8 years ago
