I was on vacation and found a small operator to do a tandem jump of some bluffs in Bali. Was awesome as we flew for about 45 minutes! 2 years ago

I went paragliding at Lake Wanaka in New Zealand on my first trip overseas. It was hilarious to run off a hill with a big parachute holding me back, but we made it off the ground and soared out over the NZ scenery. To me, it felt like being a bird – I found it peaceful and gentle, but thrilling to be in the air. And there was the option to do turns and tricks on the way down, which of course I took up :)
Wonderful, fun, and meaningful for me. I’d especially recommend it for those who would like to try something adventurous but are a bit scared. It was a nice gentle way to experience flight! 2 years ago
There’s this bikers club which I’m a part of,and a couple of guys have made a plan to ride to a place and do this. My dad was not so impressed as it was a long ride. He said lets go together(me and dad as he too wants to do it) to a nearby hill(where they give paragliding training) and do it. The reason I wanna go with the bikers is because the one they’re learning from is branded and top class. Either one of these are bound to happen. Lets see how it goes. 2 years ago
A few years ago I mentioned on here that I was trying to arrange a paragliding trip for my 40th birthday. A friend remembered that and knew that I didn’t manage to get it arranged. Imagine my surprise to have gift certificates for my brother and me to paraglide for my 43rd!!! A post on 43T resulted in the best gift ever for my 43rd birthday from an amazing friend. Too freakin’ cool!
I wish that I could describe how paragliding feels. It feels like a partnership with the wind and heat. It feels like a dance with forces stronger than yourself. It feels thrilling, scary, exciting, and like you are indulging in the age old human dream to soar like a bird.
But it isn’t too scary, and it isn’t too rough at all. If you have any interest at all, you owe it to yourself to find a tandem opportunity and give it a try. I warn you though, you will have to talk yourself out of wanting to learn to fly yourself. I am still giving myself the list of reasons why now is not a good time for me to take up this sport.
It is simply awesome, though.
This was a truly special birthday present from a truly spectacular friend. My heart overflows with gratitude for this gift and the chance to check something off my bucket list. Thank you! 2 years ago
A friend and I wanted to go paragliding in New Zealand, in the springtime… I plan to make that happen this year, hopefully in early November. 2 years ago
Yes that’s my dream!!! Just have to find an inexpensive place to do so and a nice company..:-) 2 years ago
Was looking forward to doing this whilst traveling round Europe and at the last minute it was called off as it was snowing. I was completely gutted.
This can wait though. 3 years ago
I’m having difficulties adding things to my life list, so i asked my mate what i could add and she said “Paragliding, espicially in Turkey, Oludeniz, which is meant to be one of the top places to paraglide”
I looked up the images on google and they were AMAZING.
It’s not meant to be scary. You run off of a mountain… but its not a jump.
There are plenty of website around to see if paragliding is for you too. 3 years ago
I’m a huge adrenaline junkie! I want to try this and so many other things like it_
I don’t get why so many people are afraid of heights, I LOVE being up high!!!
A friend and I almost got knocked off a cliff once due to very strong wind and being dumb enough to get that close to the edge…it didn’t change my love of being up high one bit. 4 years ago
