I had a feeling the indoor roller would really help this winter…and I was right. Rode my bicycle outside during a random 70 degree winter day (followed by an even more random 30 degree snowy day) and I was riding around 17-20mph easily. I wasn’t too nervous compared to last year. I only made it 5 miles, but its a good start.
Since then, I’ve noticed I’m closer to 14-15mph on the rollers.
Next up Spring weather and clipless pedals. 4 years ago

Dying for better weather. I think I’ll suck it up and ride in the cold next time there’s no snow/rain/hail/thunderstorm/tornado warnings. By the way, all that weather was just in the past week here. 4 years ago

My goals for the summer are to switch from my toeclips to clipless pedals and to join some local group rides around the area. 4 years ago

I randomly decided to try to finish a triathlon last year so I bought a road bicycle. I haven’t been on a bicycle since I was 8 so I spent most of last summer freaked out and trying not to die on the road bike.
I bought a set of rollers to use inside this winter to get better at my balance and bike handling.
On the first fake spring day this year I took my bike out around my apartment parking lot and it was a million times easier (than last year and easier than on the roller). I think half the problem was my fear of the bike. 4 years ago
