Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

How interesting. I keep putting this off. I wonder why. Time to get moving on this. 12 months ago

bermudamohawkthe vehicle to-do list

My poor baby Jeep is growing up so quickly! I can hardly believe it’s nearly five years old. Time flies so fast ;)

Car years are like dog years, though, so my “baby” is really reaching middle age. I need to stay on top of car issues, big and small, before something truly becomes a problem. So, by the end of November, I hope to:

  • pay my car insurance bill
  • check my oil
  • get an oil change
  • research my squeaky brake problem
  • x get my squeaky brakes fixed (it appears, from my research, that this isn’t actually a problem, only a nuisance… and that’s fine by me)
  • schedule my warranty inspection
  • get my warranty inspection
  • x resolve any issues that may arise from inspection (n/a) 22 months ago

KarenLast weekend.

✔ Got a high mileage oil change

ihsinwell, it is well.....

i am finally doing something with and about my car. I was fortunate to get him to fix things. it saved me about one grand in labour.

he got experience out of it to say the least.

he thinks that i owe him big time. At least that is what he had said to me.

again i am greatful.

The car needs washing, cleaning and what have you.

i intend to do that soon.

With all the snow and ice, my car has taken a mini-beating. Must get oil change…fix crack in window. I am still paying for this baby. It must survive for at least the next eight years! 5 years ago

rambunctiouskyEverything's Fixed!

My dad’s friend fixed the stereo. He replaced the right front speaker. The back speakers were out because they weren’t connected properly, so that was easily fixed. The radio wasn’t working because of the stereo unit itself, so we got a new stereo for the car. It now works like a dream! Yay! 7 years ago

I took my car in to get her girlie parts looked at. Everything is okay, despite the check engine light being on. Other things were fixed and she is running very well. I still need to get the stereo and antenea looked at. I got a recommendation from my car place for a place I could take it to get those parts fixed. We’ll see if it happens before I leave for New Zealand. 7 years ago

2 and 5 are done.

Now for 3/4 and my car needs another checkup because the check engine light is on… 7 years ago

rambunctiouskySo, at least I can wash it...

I keep washing my car! Yay! This is good as when I had my first car I just waited for it to rain. I considered that washing my car…

But lately I’ve been able to keep my little Alice clean. While this is a step in the right direction, she still needs her other lady parts looked at and fixed.

I’ve been attempting to find a place that will fix her stereo, but no one seems to know of a good place. Instead I think I’m going to take her to a repair place that I know of to get her checked up and ask the guys there where I should go. I think that’s a good idea. :) 8 years ago
