Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

I put a a bit of effort contacting friends/colleagues to see if they wanted to go to music concerts. Now, in 2014 I will now be attending 2 music festivals, a concert abroad in Amsterdam and at least 3 smaller gigs in London, all with bands I really want to see. So looking forward to it! 9 months ago

danielleabelle311 Pow Wow Festival-August 2011

Mike and I did a full weekend camp out at the Suwannee Music Park, and it was the most amazing weekend EVER. I hope there is a chance to go there for another music festival again. We were happy campers! C: 18 months ago

Gabriel2012SCOTT WEILAND <<< from STP

Tomorrow night I have 2 tickets to Bogarts, a venue in Cincy. The best part is Im going with this amazing woman Ive been seeing for about the past 2 weeks. Honestly Im more intested in hanging out with her VS the concert. Either way it will be a great time :) 19 months ago

I have only been to one concert and had a blast so I will pay better attention to groups that I like and where they are playing concerts and if I am close enough to attend them. 20 months ago

Can officially say I’ve gone to my first proper concert now. After previously only having been to #1) Cheesy, freshers’ week obligatory washed-up pop singer performing at uni and #2) Local bands made up of friends of friends.

15th November 2012
Had been looking forward to it for ages but also nervous as anything because I went on my own. It’s not the sort of thing you’d drag people to unwillingly. Opeth and Anathema. :)

Had not listened much to Anathema at all before, but they were the support act and they were just as amazing as the band I was there to see! Never realised before how much more amazing music can sound when it’s played live and you can see and feel all the emotion of it that the bands put in. Even when one of their songs messed up, it was all fine and they made a joke about it, played something else instead and everyone cheered and laughed anyway – love the atmosphere. :)

Also I got right to the front. Was literally in the second row of people – can’t get much better than that, and it made for an even better first concert.

Opeth are a band I love a lot and they did not disappoint. Their set list may as well have been something I’d picked, since they played pretty much everything I’d have wanted to hear, despite some people saying they’ve turned soft recently – it is not true. Mike kept making jokes and was really engaging with the crowd too.

I’ve been really buzzed from this for a good few days. I’m so glad my first experience of this was a good one, and going despite being a bit nervous was a great decision. And now I’m going to see another concert next month. :) 23 months ago
