Didn’t know I was going to do this goal. I picked up We Have Always Lived in the Castle, intending to read a little bit before bed, and next thing I knew it was 5 a.m. and the book was over.
Excellent.
Ended up doing the exact same thing, the same day, with The Sundial. Went on to reread Haunting of Hill House afterwards, since I was obviously on a roll.

I might do this when I’ve got a nice, warm, sunny day to myself. I’ll have plenty of food stuffs with me to keep me going, get to the park, sit under a tree and just read.
What book shall I read? I might even treat myself to a new book. The library card can have a day off :-)

Persefona is happy because she has good friends
but if you are so involved that you finish it in one setting, it is probably worth it! I have done it a few times and kept reading until dawn, but with regular working time not so often anymore…

SJ is luminous
...this is probably best done on accident, rather than setting out to do it. No pressure that way. My back hurts now, but it was a lovely literary day.

I had to read “the sandman” by Hoffmann for school. Actually it’s a very short novel, but I think it counts, too.
Moreover I had to read another book for school “woyzeck” which I read in one day, too.

Sadly this is something I tend to do regularly and definitely on holiday. However it does get me to the point where I finish it and I feel ‘glazed’ over and ‘full’ and just have to sit there for a while letting all the words settle! Well worth it for complete immersement but obviously cannot be forced – has to be the right book.
