The visas are here and we changed the date of flight for December 3rd. The only issue is that they screwed up my landing paper (it has 3 mistakes including my citizenship, which is important). I hope we will recieve the corrected form very soon! We are sending the container on Tuesday so we have a very busy weekend of measuring, weighting and wrapping ahead. 18 months ago
We got an approximate date for our flight! It’s not all bad because we gonna have a 7 hours layover in London! We already decided to go to Borough Market. It’s gonna be fun, although a little tiring too. We gonna have 6 big suitcases, 2 small and 2 small items (backpack and handbag). I can’t iagine how we will be able to move around with that mountain of luggage. But we already have 2 people volunteering to meet us in Vancouver which is great. Now we just have to recieve our passports by mail. 19 months ago
Sending our passports to the embassy tomorrow! They should be back in less than 3 weeks! 19 months ago
Our status changed to “medicals received”, so it should be any day now! Checking our email hourly :) 19 months ago
We got an email from Bucharest that asked for more details about our travels for the ladt year. We sent the reply immediately with all the supporting documents. That’s probably the last step we had left before the passports will be requested. Fingers crossed! 19 months ago
So now we are in Romania waiting for embassy to request our passports. Waiting sucks, especially here. I struggle so much here and feel completely alone. No one around speaks Russian or even English (except of my husband, obviously). He doesn’t keep in touch with his old friends so our socializing is limited by his family. It just seems too much for me. Feeling trapped and depressed, pretty much the same like during the 3 months we spent here last year. Romania is for tough people… 20 months ago
I got my ACPO police certificate through the post today. I wasn’t worried that a conviction would turn up (although I have heard horror stories about that happening) I have spoken to the police a few times for things like being out at 4 in the morning when I was younger ect. but it was all clear. Yay! one less thing to worry about.
Kayleigh wrote her recommendation letter today and my mums is coming through the pot tomorrow. It may all be coming together slowly! :-)

I have never liked my name and it would be really hard to change my name here where people know me. Moving to Canada seems to be the best time to do it so we talked about it and I am going to do it this week!!!
Then I will get my passport fast tracked and it will all be done :)
It does mean I will have to re-send my ACPO forms but that should not add on too much time (I hope.) 21 months ago
So I’ve been dating my boyfriend for almost a year now and we really want to live together, however since he lives in Canada and I in Sweden it is indeed troublesome.
Canada is obviously the best choice, since I am fluent in English and he is the one with an education.
As the plan lies now I will travel to Canada in the end of November/beginning of December on a tourist visa. Stay until the beginning of April and go home to renew my passport and send in an application for the International Experience Canada or a “Working Holiday” as it used to be called.
This will allow me to live there for a year and we will see where it goes from them, I might be able to get a working visa or we will go for the sponsorship option.
Right now my main goal is to collect money for my trip and IEC (you need 2500CAD in your account to apply for it). 21 months ago
