One of the habits that I’d like to develop this year is to get used bringing my lunch into work. Buying lunch takes out a considerable bite out of my budget, and generally, I’ve found myself getting bored of the food options around the office. I know that I won’t be able to stop eating out entirely, but for now, I’d like to dial it back to only once a week.
Monday – bagel with egg & cheese
Wednesday – leftover pasta puttanesca
Thursday – garlic eggplant with rice
Friday – green salad, muenster cheese and avocado sandwich, cinnamon sugar pita chips 16 months ago

This past week I brought lunch every single day (except for Tuesday when we had a lunch together with the office). I even brought snacks so I would not be tempted to buy food outside, saving money and calories.
This coming week I did my grocery shopping in advance so I should be good. 19 months ago

This week I brought lunch everyday. I spent money on pizza and soda after work on Monday because the subway was seriously not running and I wanted to kill time until the situation was better, bought a banana for a quarter (!) to keep me energized for my evening workshop on Wednesday, bought a lunch box and some sweets on Friday during my break, and got coffee and a pastry on my way to a workshop on Saturday morning, that I ended skipping because I would be very late.

I have been spending a lot of money recently, which is ok as long as it is stuff that i need.
I want to cut down on expenses on stuff that does not really matter to me, like overpriced lunch at the deli. 20 months ago

I just ate lunch I brought to my office.
Now I made lunch three days in a row! on a row? whatever.
I put rice and some more stuff into lunchbox.
Today I put some boiled broccoli with mayo, sausage, meatballs, baked egg, tiny tasty fishes, sour plum…

Brought the soup, but didn’t microwave it long enough and didn’t feel like trekking back to the kitchen to heat it some more. Coldish crab chowder is not that good. Sigh. Oh well, I’ve learned for tomorrow. 4 years ago

For awhile, I tried to consistently bring lunch by making the quickest lunch food I could think of: a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a piece of fruit. The problem is, I dislike peanut butter, so I wasn’t really enjoying my lunch. Therefore, it got to the point where I wasn’t taking time to make my lunch because I subconsciously knew I wouldn’t like it and it would make me unhappy. Eventually, I just started buying again every day.
The new solution is to think about what I buy for lunch and make it at home on Sunday. I mostly buy soup, so I made a big batch of crab chowder today. It should last all week. We’ll see how this goes! 4 years ago
