I have been thinking a lot lately about this year. I feel so lucky to have such supportive friends and family. This is probably very obvious, but I have enjoyed my years on 43t. Over the holiday I felt overjoyed when I got Christmas cards because I was not on the goal but some of you sent them to me anyway :)

This weekend I framed out a storage closet with some nice trim molding.I should have done this years ago but just never got around to it.I think it looks so much better and it only took about an hour to finish this project.

A good friend sent this to me. It reminds me of my childhood during the holidays. My mother would read this instead of a Christmas book.
I love seeing this animated and the music is just perfect.I hope you guys like this too.

This is the first time my children get an advent calendar. We always used to think it would be too much for them with the dutch Sinterklaas, all celebrations in kindergarden and pre-school and christmas.

This year I found a very old advent calendar my parents once gave me a looong time ago (I knew it: moving was really good for something). It’s not really fancy, and I even didn’t put in big presents, but small little things.

Well, the first little bag, filled with two tiny stuffed animals, was emptied within seconds. =) We seldom had that much fun (and so well-humoured children) when having an early breakfast.

...But I’m very curious about how long it takes before they empty more than one bag a day…

I spent two days at Devil’s Den, snorkeling, swimming and riding horses. We stayed in these gorgeous cabins surrounded by moss covered trees. The morning mist over the park was beautiful.

It was difficult to get great photos inside the caves, but you can kind of get a feel for what I saw. These caves have fossilized seaforms all over the walls. At the deepest point, the dive is 58 feet.

Yesterday morning, my daughter (5) started to ask questions again, which sometimes can go on and on and on… But this time it got interesting. =)

Andrea: Mama, why is it that Pinocchio can move when he is made out of wood?
Me: Well, the fairy gave him the ability to walk and talk.
Andrea: Oh I get it: he’s running on batteries!
