Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Well I’m planning on buying a bike and running and riding outside so the gym past the swimming may not be seeing me for a bit or well for the weights.
This then raises the question at least for me about crossfit. I am very interested but then I’m very interested in P90X but even if you can do them at a beginner level I don’t want that I wanna nail them.

Well we’ll see I’ve downloaded runkeeper on my phone and gone on the site but how it works I’m at a bit of a loss. But just general fitness and strength and triathlons and everything.

Well I think the title kind of gives it all away really.

I’m thinking/ I am going to tomorrow. Buy a bike.
I joined a challenge and you need to cycle and run OUTSIDE! I’m so nervous as although I like the idea of doing it outside I’m just like cycle in the gym – no cars no anything like that, run in the gym no cars no people looking.
Do it outside – I don’t like anywhere nice to run and cycle if you know what I mean so I’m just like wtf but it’s part of the challenge so swim and cycle and run the furthest so.
But bikes cost a shit tonne! I had no idea that they cost soooo much. Unless I’m looking at a shop that charges a fortune but yea wow like £500! And I’d need kit like lights and a helmet and all that stuff. But I have to do it now. 2 years ago

Well I did go to the gym today. And yet any semblance of fitness have gone very much far away.
But tomorrow is another day, I’ll try to get back on the horse as it were, a mile to start and then to whatever workout I pick to do.

Just swum another 1k nothing else. Time was 42min 10sec
I was going to bike and run but frankly I just didn’t want to which annoyed me. If I know the time is just going to be awful then I just lose interest almost if I know it’s just too much. But then why not do a little less? 2 years ago

So with my day off beginning:
1k swim – 53min 14sec
lol can you guess I didn’t do the 40lengths in one go. Fingers crossed this can improve as it’s a massive chunk. This was however the time from me putting my bag in the locker and everything so a little time can be shave off just from that but a lot of stopping and going slow with other people in the pool.
10k cycle – 19min
that’s about average I think for me. But not the best overall. Once I was out of the water I didn’t feel tired really at all.
2.5k run – 19min 23sec
a lot more of walking. I already ‘run’ so slow as I can’t keep up the speed so I know its not worth it.

As always it’s the swim and the run to improve. 2 years ago

1. Stratford tri: 13th May – 200m or 400m swim, 23k cycle, 2.5k or 5k run.

If I’m gonna do this thing with the triathlons this is the first. I’m still looking at crossfit though.

So I went to the gym today. Just a 2k ‘run’ 5k cycle 2k ‘run’ and 2k cross trainer thing with a little weights stuff in the middle
An odd one – my mile thing is going no where. Just need to keep on.
I do enjoy challenges though so that’s going to be good. Plus I’ve been pointed into the direction of crossfit and it’s something I’m not just looking at I’m looking at seriously.
I have a habit of just jumping into stuff so lets jump in. But not right now :P 2 years ago

So I did go to the gym yesterday just did a mile but only in 10.45
today in 10.06 but its just not steady.
Tomorrow it’s the gym again after work – but I may go back to my more interval type stuff on the treadmill.
But it’s swimming during the week as well as I’m off this needs to improve and I’ve just googled crossfit. 2 years ago

Three days – shameful, it’s only been today by real choice if you know what I mean. So it’s off to the gym tomorrow.
Interval stuff is best so I’m going back to that but I really rather want to do longer steadier stuff but it’s wrong.
