aren’t they pretty? I got them back in the 80’s and they cost a small fortune then (but hey! I was doing ok at the time! ha-ha!)
Anyway, they are italian—they got new seats and were re-laquered. I am not sure where I will keep them. Maybe here..they look nice. They are deceptively comfortable, a big guy can sit in one of these and feel comfortable and secure. I’m very happy this furniture thing is over with! whew! moving it all to the right side column!

They restored it and it is just gorgeous! It is in our kitchen area…it SHOULD be in the dining area but OH WELL. The extension leaves are stored under the table..(Danish furniture makers are so smart!)—I have the chairs put away elsewhere since only two will fit in this area. My plan will be to move this table to the dining area for holidays. (Not sure where we’ll put the other table then, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it).
We will be able to get 12 people at this table when it has its two leaves in. I have already bought a protective pad for it—so hopefully nothing bad will happen to it. Pretty funny how you spend a fortune getting something like this fixed…just to cover it up again.
everyone in Dave’s family loves this table and chairs ..because it is so comfortable. It is oak in a card table height with “captain’s chairs”. It is from the 70’s. I think it is quite ugly but I confess the chairs are very comfortable. You can sit in these for several hours playing poker and be very very happy. But when it is Thanksgiving we all have to eat on our laps…because there are only four chairs and we have about 12 guests.
after several months (well years if we count the time it spent “away” with ex husband) here is my new/old dresser all restored with new runners and the water stain removed from the top. I plan to get Dave to hang the mirror properly. It is supposed to hang over the dresser on the wall.
wondering where all the stuff went? don’t ask. Anyway—the area awaits the new/old dresser
This basket deal is what I was using while my dresser was being repaired. As you can see I also am in the midst of my “filing” project, so things are a titch discomboobalated.
okay! so the delivery guys should be here in one hour. I have open spaces ready in both the kitchen and the bedroom. I’ve decided that I will probably sell the smaller table on craigslist.
I can hardly wait to get through this..it is kind of an ordeal. Well, what can I do to make it less of an ordeal? hmmmm, start thinking about how lucky I am to have several sets of furniture. (ha-ha, just kidding) You know, I really have THREE dining room sets, counting the little goofy one that has been in the kitchen nook area. Now I have to unscrew the top off that one and struggle the dang thing downstairs (where there really is NO room for it)! I’ll give it to one of Dave’s kids should they want it.
someone tell me WHY do we have so much stuff!!? why.. why
I am weary and I haven’t even addressed the dining room table thing…someone also please tell me why I wait to the last minute to do these things? oh, is it because it is taxing?? yup, that would be my guess!
It is Thursday..Friday is fast approaching. Today I have to clear out space for the big dining room table. (I’m sure it looks pretty! it is a cherry wood color. Luckily for me it wasn’t exh’s girlfriend’s taste.) I had scratches buffed out of it.
