My Poi arrived a couple weeks ago and I am loving them! Much more difficult than I thought but I am hoping that I will be able to practise to get good enough to be able to have fire poi:) right now I just have the LED poi, which is fine by me or I definately would have been on fire several times in the last 2 weeks;) 5 years ago

I first had a shot at my friend’s poi last September at a cottage in Glen Etive and picked it up quickly. My fiance bought me my own set for Christmas and they come to work with me on Back and Nightshift to practice. I’m hoping to be good enough to buy Fire Poi around Christmas this year, but it’s a fab hobby. I also wear wrist weights when I practice to build up my muscles. I own a drumkit and that helps me build up my arm muscles. I’m currently trying to incorporate dance into my spinning but had a few bruises so far!
Most definitely worth doing! Maybe also going to learn staff sometime soon! 6 years ago

I’ve taught a lot of folks the basics, and am always willing to teach more, when time allows. 7 years ago

And pretty much almost strangled myself trying to do that butterfly trick. 7 years ago

I’m sure this doesn’t exactly fall under here, but because it’s about my poi set, it does. I’m supposed to order it from a friend of my sister’s, but my sister is majorly holding things up. I don’t understand why she can’t ask everything at one go (“What colours do you have, if you don’t have any in stock, when are you going to get some more?”). It’s just as simple as that, but no, it seems like it’s going to take her a week to ask those simple questions.
I’ve half the mind to just go and phone her friend myself, but she doesn’t want me to do that; at the same time, it’s next to impossible to get her to get her rear in gear. How much does one phone call cost, exactly? (And this I mean in non-monetary terms.) At the same time, she tells me it’ll be better to get them from her friend. Argh.
Good grief.
I think that it’s generally not a good thing to have goals that are somewhat dependent on other people-relatives especially because you can’t fire them or anything-schedule-wise at least. 7 years ago

I’m getting my set sometime next week, lightweight ones so there’s less of a chance that I’d kill myself or anyone else in the process of learning to handle them.
No, we’re not touching those fire ones just yet. 7 years ago
