Pass the CPA exam

I need serious help in this section. I can not seem to get it straight in my head. Scored a 60% on the MC’s. I will be reworking those and I have also supplemented with Wylie. Does anyone have any tips as to what I can do so that it makes more sense?

For now I’m moving forward to F1 and will redo the MC’s and summarize my notes for easy review.

On week 2 and am behind :(

Have to catch up and finish chapter 1 and start chapter 2 this week. Still have a 2nd set of lectures to listen to from chapter 1 and another set of mcqs to answer for homework.

I am familiar with 74% of the material for Engagement Planning and Assessing Risks Module 2. Need to stop 2nd guessing myself. 2 weeks ago

I’m back at it again. Started studying Monday for AUD. Its a retake and starting from scratch using Roger CPA Review. I’m still waiting for my matereials which should get here tomorrow but I’m listening to the lectures online.

I have zero motivation. I can’t concentrate and when I finally am able to sit & study for a couple hours I find myself wondering about different things (groceries, running, my dog, car, work, etc) I think about everything and everyone except the CPA Exam.

Someone from Another71 posted this video. We are not football players but in a way we are playing our own game. There will always be that one person who thinks you can’t do what you set out to do. We will prove them wrong. There are not limits the only limits are the ones we set for ourselves. I dare say that fear of failure (see scores above) is the only thing that stands in my way. It is a mind game, you vs you. In the end I will win.

Has anyone used Roger CRAM for FAR?

I used Becker the first time around and I really do not feel like going through all that material again. There is just way to much information. Obviously I will if I have to. It has been 2 years since I took FAR and as I look through the material a lot of it does come back to me and is familiar.

Any suggestions/advice is appreciated.

I’ve been down about the exam lately. Last month I failed Audit (again), and I am currently preparing for FAR in May. Although it is still pretty far ahead, I feel overwhelmed by the amount of material there is. I know I can do this, but I’m scared of the sacrifice it takes. I will NOT give up. I have question about Basic EPS calculation.
Assuming, 20,000 shares of cumulative preferred stock issued at $100 par value, 6%, on 04/01/2001. To get the numerator part of Basis EPS formula (Net Income – Preferred Dividend), which one is correct way to calculate preferred dividend?

A. 20,000 shares * $100 par * 6% = $120,000
B. 20,000 shares * $100 par * 6% * 9/12 (issued on 4/01/2001) = $90,000

I found out back in December I passed BEC! That’s my very first section.

Now I am in the waiting game for REG. I studied waaay harder but felt like I didn’t do well on my sims. I hope God will add some divine touch to my score come the Friday score release! 3 months ago

I’m still in apprehensive pre-study prep mode. I’m about to shell out a crap load of money for study materials. I’ve used Becker half-heartedly in the pass and scored anywhere from 53-72 on BEC, AUD and REG. I just wanted to know if anyone had advice on what I study material is best to use.

Posts on this site indicate people are using:
1) Wiley
2) Becker
3) Roger
4) Ninja

But what study materials works best for which sections? Or is there one system that works best for all sections?

I’ve heard Becker is good for everything except BEC… again, just not sure…

Whoever’s reading this post (when you should be studying lol) would you mind letting me know which you prefer? found more success? and which one you’d recommend for someone who struggles more w/JE, bonds, and cost accounting (basically BEC and FAR)?3 months ago

I was suppose to take FAR in January. I didn’t bother to show up, didn’t open my book, nothing. In fact I spend New Year’s alone in bed, I was too depressed to do anything. My personal life has taken a strange turn. My fiance and I broke up in November, he moved out the week before Christmas. I now live alone in my house with my dogs. This is the first time I have EVER lived alone. It is definitely a big change and it took some time getting used to it. I decided to take a month off from CPA and focus on myself. I cleaned, organized, exercised, played guitar I did everything I could for me. I just needed me time.

I do apologize for the rant/depressing story, I know that some people on here that have had worse things happen. It is not the end of the world and really in the end it was for the best. This is just something I had to get off my chest.

It is now the 8th and I’m pre-planning my FAR study schedule again. I cannot take it until next window so I’m planning on an early May retake. This is my last exam and I want to get this out of the way as soon as possible.

By the way has anyone tried the ‘CPA Exam Aid” App? Its pretty cool you can plan out your study schedule & it keeps track of how far along you are in your studies.
