learn to make cocktails

Over the past week I’ve been trying out a few cocktails:

- Resolution (non alcoholic)
- Red Wine Cooler
- Madras
- Vodka Daisy (my favourite so far!)
- Sundowner
- Gin & Sin

I still need to practice a few of the techinques (I still spill like crazy).

I got a cocktail book titled Cocktails: 365 Happy Hours, plus a cocktail shaker and ice bucket with tongs.

I can now also make margaritas and screaming orgasms!
How cool am i?!
Not gonna have done this goal until I can make 10!!!

They have an application on Facebook that gives you cocktail recipes. Now that’s killing 2 birds with the one stone (I guess I’m pretty addicted to Facebook).

I was reading a magazine today and came across some recipes for cocktails made with chocolate!! They sound lovely. Here’s one so you can see too:

Milk Chocolate Cocktail

210ml milk
75g milk chocolate
1 shot of amaretto
75ml vanilla syrup

Simmer the milk, add the chocolate and stir until it’s melted. Cool for an hour at room temprature and then chill for an hour. Pour into a cocktail shaker, add the amaretto and vanilla syrup and shake.

Sounds lovely, I will definately make this!!

Exellent! I found the recipe for the cocktails we were drinking the other night. They were called Purple Rain and are made up of grenadine, Archers, white rum (or vodka), blue curacao and lemonade. They sound horrible but were so nice, very morish and pretty lethal things too!!

I went to dinner at a friends house last night and another friend who was there was making cocktails called Purple Rain, they were really nice, but leathal! I can more or less rememmer what was in them, but I’ll have to check a couple of things out – my memory is a little hazy this morning!! I may be able to track down the recipe on the internet.

Apart from the pride;), it also saves money (drinking cocktails at a house party is a good bit cheaper than in a pub) + the nibbles are better too:)
+ I’d say experimenting would be fun:-)
