10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.
Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.
It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.
As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Credit goes to Bruce Springstein for writing and performing the original version of this!
Today you ran with all your heart in the streets of Shawnee Mission
Today you ran for all the kids and for those who hold a vision
Ran in the frenzy circling Highway 7
And crossin’ that finish line
Rosie, you gave everything you had
With a big smile, with a gleam in your eye
You gotta keep up, keep on going
’Cause women like you, Rosie, you were BORN TO RUN!!!
OK, I took a little artistic license, which probably only Adventurina will notice. And, sorry, but I had to use Rosie, as Adventurina wouldn’t fit…and I had enough trouble with the syllables and word stress and all that stuff!8 years ago
more napping is in order for today!!! 8 years ago
This whole experience was AWESOME!!! It was really wonderful how everyone came together to donate for such a great cause. And how cool to be able to meet Adventurina and cheer her as she ran!!! I hope some other 43thingers get the same chance some day…she is totally COOL and WONDERFUL and as CHEERFUL as she seems online!!! 8 years ago
I met Adventurina and G
I cheered Adventurina
I got LOTS of attention from all the race people
I got lost in the parking lot with my mom
I met Pumpkin and Ginger – they are very NICE
I tried to start a fight when Pumpkin and Ginger got to close to my mom
Adventurina told me I had DIGNITY
We came home and I have my mom all to myself AGAIN8 years ago
I’m VERY tired…I’m off to take a NAP!!! 8 years ago
YAY! I DID IT!!! I actually met Adventurina/Rosie (and G) and had a FABULOUS day…so don’t believe anything Adventurina tries to tell you that might indicate otherwise!!! She ran a GREAT race and finished in great time, all smiles and full of pep.
Bella got to go and received lots of attention at the race, but didn’t think much of the attention that Ginger and Pumpkin gave me when we went back to Adventurina’s house…she is very protective and just a mite bit jealous!
We had a fabulous lunch on the plaza, eating outside on the veranda and enjoying the beautiful day, the fantastic scenery, and great conversation. And, of course, yummy food…I had shrimp and bow tie pasta!
G and I both took pics, but mine have to be developed, so it will be at least tomorrow before I have them to post. 8 years ago
