alice_at_teaMT 3.2 Up and Running

Pain in the @$$ but well worth the trouble. 7 years ago

alice_at_teaso simple

Solution: In MySql Administrator allow ALL privileges, not just the ones all the documents at MT tell you.

Up and running :D

Next step: Web Site 7 years ago

alice_at_teawhat is with mt

directories match
mt-check.cgi doesn’t give success (so matching isn’t the problem)
mt.cgi opened twice both times got stuck and returned an
“error during installation: Access denied for user ‘mt_user’@’%’ to database ‘mt’ at lib/MT/Upgrade.pm line 1076”
i don’t know whats going on.
I took mt out and put it back, retracing my steps. this time directoris match (without green success) but mt.cgi won’t run a box pops up and asks if i want to ‘open’,’save’,’cancel’ ... or the cgi error pops up again but the directories match.

alice_at_teafixed! **smiles smugly** NEW ERROR?!, **curse** divine retribution

Fixed the CGI Error and got the Working and Home Directories to match in the mt-check.cgi but it still doesn’t give the green success line ???

When i try and run http://localhost/mtvd/mt.cgi it gives the same CGI Error and redirects the address to “http://localhost/wwwroot/mtvd/mt/mt-update.cgi?__mode=install”
...why?...

alice_at_teaOMG, OMG, OMG

So, I’ve been trying to install MT 3.2 on Windows Server 2003 w/ II6 for [insert ridiculous amount of time here, no worries i’m sure exaggeration isn’t possible].

The pattern seems relatively consistant: Trial, error, trial, error, error, error, trial, error

Goal: Up and Running by Tomorrow! :) cross fingers

bwilmsTime to Upgrade

I am currently running version 2.x of Movable Type on my website. With the reality of comment spam, many tools have been developed to make it less of a hindrance. Unfortunately, these tools are all designed for Movable Type 3.x.

I also look at it as a way to make a fresh start on my website. I’ve been wanting to move over to PHP for some time now and I believe this will afford me the opportunity to do so. Now, I just need to do it. 8 years ago
