awindow is a self-knowing extroverted tree-hugger.
I recycle like a fiend. I’d say 90% of my recyclable trash, I recycle. I always feel guilty when I don’t, so I regularly hold on to cans/bottles/wrappers until I get to a recycling bin.
I am also a major reducer. I avoid paper towels, unplug things when I’m not using them, limit shower time, take the bus, don’t leave the faucet running, ride my bike when I need something (that I can carry) from the stores in a 2-mile radius, do full loads of laundry, and eat little meat.
Obviously, there’s always more that can be done to reduce and recycle, but maybe not enough to leave it as one of my 43 things. My issue is with reusing.
Of course, there are a lot of things I reuse. My clothes, my furniture, etc. But I still seem to go out with the old and in with the new more than is environmentally friendly. When I make a few changes there, I’ll mark this as “done!”

I’ve become really good at recycling. Reducing and Reusing, not so much.

Obviously I’m still recycling pretty well because it’s created a huge mess in the garage. Need to take the time to sort it and send it on it’s way. Didn’t buy anything new for the holidays except a few cards.

I will continue to be conscious and monitor the way I buy things, what kind of packaging etc is it in.. I will continue to recycle… I don’t think that we all have to change all that much… if weveryone does a little nit it will add up and make it better ofr all of us.

I will be careful of what I bring into the house over the holidays. I’ll practice reducing that amount. It’s the time of year I can sometimes mindless buy. I won’t. It’s still better to stay out of the stores as much as possible at this time to avoid the things I DO NOT need.

It helps to stay out of the stores. No impulse buying and then wondering why you bought something anyway.

Sometimes it’s this reuse part that adds clutter to my life. I’ve always got to be careful about what I save. I’ve focused on saving some things only a month and if they’re not used then they are recycled. Still need to find permanent homes for these things so I don’t get tired of looking at them and just throw them away.

Made tons of spagehetti sauce and I think we’re getting tired of it. Will freeze the rest because I know if I don’t it will go to waste and if I do it will save a lot of time another day because dinner will already be made.

I made a goal last year to make a quilt for Project Linus. I love that quilting is the ultimate in recycling. I used an old curtain I had stored away, an old table cloth and an old sheet. They were all in perfect shape just not anything I’d use now. I can’t believe how they’re coming together to make something entirely new and lovely.
