teach my daughter to ride a bike

What an amazing and proud feeling to see her go further and further long after you let go of the saddle!

We took her to a park with loads of level grass covered spaces. She managed wonderfully! She can still only go in a straight line and can’t start by herself. Tomorrow were going the Durban botanical gardens where there should be enough grass covered space to teach her to turn as well! 3 years ago

After 2 months of setting the side wheels at its maximum height, we took it off yesterday. We started practicing yesterday on the lawn where she can fall without getting hurt. We are focusing on riding straight with her looking at an object in front of her and peddeling the whole time. Her record is 5 steps without me holding the saddle! 3 years ago

After all the cold bitter days of winter that we’ve been having, my daughter hasn’t had a chance to be outside. We finally had a nice day and she wanted to take her bike out. Since I was busy watching the 3 yr old, she was on her own with riding. She practiced back and forth for an hour and by the end, she was successfully riding her bike! WOOT5 years ago

we get back from school so again this goal gets moved over till the spring. Man I feel like a useless mum that I didn’t work on this goal with her earlier. :( 5 years ago

we bought wee one a new bike. Well it’s not a ‘new’ bike but it looks pretty new and she thinks it’s the best bike ever. :) So now while she’s enthused about her new bike we need to get out and get her balancing. 5 years ago

unless I can get my Big Miss outside before the weather changes to cold all the time. She hasn’t had the interest to get on her bike, so I’m trying not to push the subject too much. I need to get her out there and show her she can do it!

Hopefully we’ll have some time after school that we can work together and get her some confidence! 5 years ago

we have wanted to do this for ages and never seem to get around to it properly well i think now is the time to get her of and rolling as it were.
