I have figured out what i want to do the next 3 years when it comes to work and education, i will go to University and study Behavioral science, and that is a big step for me knowing what i want to do finally. I`m 30 years old and i have tried out different kinds of work, and i have studied different stuff, but never got the feeling that i was on “the right track”.. This time my decision feels more right than ever..
I know now more than ever that reaching the goal is not the most important thing for me, it´s the amazing and exciting journey it brings me, so i will do my best to have as much fun as possible doing this..
Soo! I got that part figured out (for now). But i`m still not satisfied when it comes to other sides of my life..So i will not set this goal as done, not yet.. 3 weeks ago

In 5 years I want to have a great job in my industry, be in the best shape of my life, and have begun traveling the world.

Travel:
• Chicago, New York, Seattle, Alaska, Hawaii
• Within California: Lake Tahoe, big bear, Yosemite national park, Catalina island, Napa valley
• Britain, Scotland, Bali, Japan, France, ect.

Financial
• Open an IRA
• Have retirement savings vs. Rainy day savings
• $3000 a year for rainy day/emergency savings and $5000 a year for retirement

Career
• Have a successful blog
• Become an expert at painting, drawing, sculpting
• Be respected in my field
• Work at one of the major studios on a major picture

Home
• Have an inspirational home
• Learn to decorate
• Have a clean and tidy place to rest
• Be a decent cook

Fitness/Health
• Reach my ideal weight
• Be toned and lean
• Not be afraid to wear a bikini
• Have nice abs
• Stay in shape
• Eat healthy foods
• Be super flexible

Overall/ Superficial
• Dress nice
• Be more feminine

2012 accomplishments:
-Met and fell in love with an amazing man.
-spent lots of quality time with my family
-Grew through the grieving process and supported my family through a difficult transition.
-stood up for my own needs in the face of family members demands.
-got published and paid for my first article. learned lessons for the next gauntlet.
-made lots of contacts in the writing process and at napbirt.
-co-ran a regional clinic in toronto.
-made great christmas presents for my family.
-stayed afloat despite financial strain.
-got my final drivers liscence!
-learned to be a disciplined runner
-learned to throw axes and shoot arrows.
-weaned myself off anxiety meds. :)
-gained a lot of confidence at work, am on my way to being a senior tech. :)

2013:

-make fresh juice every weekend that I’m home.
-stick to my new budget stretegy
-prepare for a 5k race in the fall
-save an extra 500.00 for tfsa by january in ‘float’
-save 500.00 for christmas in ‘float’
-publish interviews with apprentices/master craftsmen.
-Start research for a possible book.
-make a point of going out with friends once a week.
-prepare a napbirt clinic on soldering/brazing/metalurgy for the 2014 convention, possibly demo it at a 2013 regional clinic.
-grow and preserve from a container garden.
-keep growing my love for self and for my partner into a greater sense of lovingkindness.
-wear a size L by my 30th birthday and a size M by my 31st
-go somewhere seriously cool by yourself.
-make a gameplan re: canadian apprenticeship requirements and form a committee to help establish standards by 2015.
-resolve that its ok not to take on engraving as a side business. Its a great skill but fades without the passion to make it work.
-keep on top of that budget it is going to set you free!

2014:
-Marry that man!?
-submit a book proposal to publishing houses/agents.
-Fit into mary’s leather jacket
-Relax and enjoy napbirt trip and kelowna wedding trip with minimal stress. see who you can but don’t be a crazy chicken.
-Decide about kids.
-prepare for a 10k race in the fall
-Take Christian for an adventure just the two of us, to celebrate his 21st

2014 (31 y.o.):
-stop paying rent even if it is just to co-own with mom.
-Find a way of keeping up with the ladies, they are wonderful and important people in your life no matter where everyone is living!
-love what you’re doing and if you don’t, rethink it.

2015 (32 y.o.):
-knuckle down on your life, enjoy what you have built.
-There is always taking care
-Start a fun and wacky tradition among friends and family.
-Write that book about learning. do it. get it published. you won’t regret it.
-Keep looking for new trouble

2016 (33 y.o.):
-Personal debts Paid off… go it alone if you can afford it.
-Publish something about my work, take credit for the weird and wonderful work you have done.
-spread the love, volunteer to make the lives of others in your community more full of love and opportunity. Become a mentor. 4 months ago

I had tried to work on this goal back when i joined 43t in 2010 and forgot about it midway, and now that i am back on this site , i have decided to revisit this goal.

The toughest thing that happened this year was going through a long job hunting phase which subsequently hit my self confidence + savings hard :/

Meanwhile, both of my best friends got married to their partners this year (the first one was back in march and the other friend’s was last weekend), and several of my close friends suddenly fell into serious relationships + started their own businesses. Its not exactly new to me, since i have always been a late bloomer/the single one in my friend circles, but now that even my closest friends have settled down and moved onto the next stage of life, while i am still in that vortex of confusion + financial mess, this just isn’t what i had pictured for my life at 26.

The thing with me is, I have never been great at long term planning. I am good at figuring out short term goals, but i usually dont think too much about long term plans, trusting they will happen organically. And i know there is some truth to that, as they say ‘man proposes, god disposes’.

But i think its time i atleast stay prepared with the qualities and skills i will need to make the most of any future opportunity should it ever come by my way. 5 months ago

I’m not sure this has been a good year.

So far I have:

- Completed an A-level in chemistry
- Finished first draft of a novel

I want to do more. I don’t see why I still can’t get a job. Whats wrong with me?

This year has only five months left. By the end of it I want to:

- Have a job
- Outlined second fiction book
- Written at least 50k for first draft of said fiction book.
- Finished first draft of said fiction book (providing it is under 100k which it should be).
- Finished second draft of first fiction book
- Finished third draft and however many other drafts of first fiction book.
- Have first fiction book ready to send out for submissions.
- Submit it to at least five agents or publishers.

Timeline for this: (Find a job – ongoing)
July: Outline fiction story two (overall) and finish second draft of first four chapters of fiction story one. Finish writing first draft of the five extra chapters I want to put in.
August: Finish second draft of rest of book. Decide which version to use. Send off version to critique/edit. Start chapter by chapter breakdown of second story outline.
September: Third draft/rewrite fiction story one.
October: Get list of agents or publishers to send to (the first five). Finish story (including stuff need to send with it). Make sure second story fully outlined. On last day of month or before – send to the people on the list.
November: Write first 50k of second fiction story.
December: Finish second fiction story. Send first fiction story to five more agents at beginning of month – if all rejects then start rewrite. 10 months ago
