Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Just went running an hour ago! I’ve been so busy lately, but today it just was nice out and I went for it. Now to repeat this 2 times… that’s where the challenge is haha. 5 years ago


working on this one for lent!
I went running today with Claudia and we did ab exercises and 5 million lunges (aka 60 lol) and we’re going to try and go at least twice a week. Gotta work my way up there. 5 years ago


I want to get back into the whole running routine. Lately I’ve really been wanting to get back into good shape and just be healthy and I need to make an effort rather than think wishfully! 5 years ago


I just haven’t felt very healthy lately because of my crappy sleep schedule and school starting and eating too many M&Ms, but I’m going to get back on track and once I do that I’m going to try to start going running in the mornings before school. I think it’ll give me a reason to wake up and make me feel productive and happier.

It is ten million degrees outside.

So the other day I worked outside on a wall I’m painting at work and I was hot and miserable and sweaty. I went home after work and, what did I do? I put on my running shoes and went up to the park. I was halfway around the trail when I thought to myself, WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING? So I walked most of the way back.

This is so hard in summer and with having a job and with how much I like to eat cookies. 6 years ago


It’s summer. It’s hot. This is hard.

I’ve been outside a lot during work this week so I have been super unmotivated to do this because of overexposure to the sun, BUT
today I got super ticked off at my mom when I got home and I just couldn’t take it so I threw on my workout garb and grabbed Widsom of the Little Flower St. Therese: Bearer of Western Spirituality and I headed to the park and I ran and read (not simultaneously, lol). It was gooood! 6 years ago
