THIS BOOK REALLY ANNOYED ME. THE END.
Ah, I should say more than that, shouldn’t I. I just really didn’t care for his writing style at all.
... that’ll do it. 7 years ago
I love Wicked! The Musical so I was really excited to find the novel that inspired it hidden in a second-hand store down the road. I really, really loved the novel but it was so different from the musical (that seemed to ham up the whole story and take it in a different direction). I kept predicting things that were going to happen in the book because of the musical… and then those things just wouldn’t happen. The musical also got twisted the way that The Little Mermaid was twisted from the original fairy tale into the Disney movie.
I REALLY LOVE THE BOOK. I ALSO REALLY LOVE THE MUSICAL. LIFE’S HARD FOR ME RIGHT NOW. 7 years ago
I only read this in March and it was the first book I read this year! I think that’s because I read so many last year that I kind of burnt out a bit.
I love Sarah Waters but I think this is my least favourite book of hers. She tried something a little new – 1900s instead of 1800s, the whole years going backwards instead of forwards for the interesting reveal… those were the main two shake-ups I think. I liked the book but I didn’t love it like I loved her others. 7 years ago
