... just bought a new one instead. I’ve had it for months, with no problems!
I got my wireless router and had to plug it into the wall. Now I have fixed it and made it really wireless by making it solar powered. You shoud too. There are a few instructions about but these were the easiest – http://www.yourgreendream.com/yp_solar_wireless.php

Still couldn’t get it working grrrrrrrr. Well, the AP is working, but the repeater apparently only repeats its own signal.
Zoe has lots of work to do!
I have wireless internet on the laptop, wired on the computer and I still have NTL with a set top box :D. My friend helped me set it up :D. And it works on Linux too now so I can go on Linux with NTL Internet :D

I bought a router a week ago made by ADDON, my ISP is NTL and my Internet goes through a Digibox. The website I bought it from says that it works with NTL. When I connect it to my computer and connect my laptop wirelessly they can get things from each other but the Internet wont work at all on either of them. If i go to the router page it says it’s getting the IP from the DHCP server, and it’s only ever got it once but lost it again. I have entered the DNS IPs which I got from NTL but it didn’t make a difference. When it did find the IP from the DHCP server it still didn’t connect to the Internet, but I think that might have been because my Internet likes stopping and the light telling me the Internet is on was off. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do??

My firewall machine has kicked the can. So, I’ve replaced it with my Linksys. I have to get switch for my bedroom now though. Then I’ll mess around with the wireless encryption stuff.
After weeks and weeks of unsuccessfully trying to get my wireless router to work again- I have succeded. It’s nice to be able to use my laptop for it’s intended purpose- mobility- again. I am so excited.

Unfortunately, our wireless router likes to crap out at least once every couple of days. And more unfortunately, it happens when I’m at work, and Candice is at home. She doesn’t know how to diagnose the problem (nor do I), so she always gets stuck unplugging and rebooting the router, which is a pain. Must-fix-router-for-my-wife! :)
