I want to go to Melbourne Australia. I watched No reservations and it seems like a cool place to visit. I now know places to eat. 12 months ago

MADDI235 days!

What seemed like an eternity away is finally here. We’ve made official plans (paid for and everything) to leave on April 16th for Australia!!! We’re staying for 17 days and visiting Sydney, Melbourne, Uluru, Alice Springs, Port Douglas and Brisbane. I’m finally going to fulfill one of my greatest childhood dreams! 13 months ago

helenkateFinally acheived!

I went last year (2010) with my Dad, as a 3 week trip.
It was mind blowing.

We started off in a hostel in Perth and planned as we went along.
Perth was a beautiful city, and the people were lovely.

We flew over to Sydney to stay there for roughly a week. It reminded me of London, a bigger, pusher city than Perth on the west coast, but still absolutely stunning.

We then took a 16 hour bus trip down to Brisbane, which was a sweet little city, more like a big town than anything else.

It was nice to see my Dad so happy seeing old places he had been before, although we couldn’t get up to Karratha where he used to work.

The whole experence was incredible and it makes me sad that I may never go back. I just need to get convincing my boyfriend that the money is worth it.

I’d love to try getting a van and working my way across the country. 17 months ago

I got back last week and it is the most amazing place i’ve ever been.
My favourite experience was snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef. It was stunning.

It had to be the best week of my life so far! Everyone should go! :) 17 months ago

martknellPlans are afoot!

Owing to my Aussie wife, we have plans to visit Australia (1st time for me!) during Christmas 2012. Currently saving up the astronomical cost of air fares! 18 months ago

MADDI23Terrified

I was just recently diagnosed with a problem with a bone in my foot. It’s been causing me pain incessantly for about 5 months now and I just finally went to the doctor. Eventually I will need surgery, but my doctor wants to try every other option first in order to control the pain and move the surgery off a few years. So I’m on an anti-inflammatory and had to buy these special ugly tennis shoes and some fancy inserts to control the way I walk. I HATE wearing these. I live in Florida and I like being in flip flops 24/7 but now all day I have to live in misery wearing these shoes so that I’m not in miserable pain. Is the trade off worth it? Now, how does this effect Australia? My mom and I have set a date in April of next year. Basically I’m terrified that I’ll be in pain the whole time we’re travelling. And if I were to elect to have the surgery now maybe I’d be healed by April, if we wait…. I just want to be able to enjoy Australia without this ridiculous pain. It makes me sad. I’ve been waiting for this trip for years. I just want to enjoy it. 18 months ago
