Straha"coming along"

The Women’s Center is coming along. The exterior is almost complete (including paint) and we ran a vocational class to complete the stairs out front.

Also, there is some support for the project. It is politically correct, and can be a force for change in the local area.

I have high hopes for success. 17 months ago

Straha"Woman's Center"

They are trying to put a Woman’s Center together here, and I want to film the progress. It is a good project, and I feel it is an important story to tell.

I finally found an idea I feel strongly about. 18 months ago

Straha"end of 2011"

This is a maybe the end of the year project. With so much on my plate for 2011, it may be possible to do a mini-documentary, but I doubt it. 2 years ago

Straha"just started"

We’ve started a small production company and yesterday was our first project. We’re doing a small documentary about the contents of an old home’s attic and how it relates to the community. 4 years ago

Pohatutkto understand my life.

Today marks the third time I’ve seen the episode of This American Life entitled The Cameraman. The episode focuses on sample documentary footage taken by G.J. Echternkamp, in which he films his parents over the course of a year or so. Beginning with no purpose or thought of continuity, the work becomes something amazing. In what is provided for the episode, you can really see how the scope of the work is widened as his presence narrows and his detachment widens.

I feel a constant burden with my life; I’ve never felt that things were good for me. I want to broaden my own lens and see what everyone sees as so great. Sure, I might miss out some, but apparently it wouldn’t be much different than the way things are today. I think it could be good. 4 years ago

AmandaOr something like a montage.

I’ve been toying with this idea for a little while.
I’m thinking I’m going to film a lot of my sophmore year, edit it all up, and write it to disc.
Not so much as a memory, but as a cultural memoir… 4 years ago

It’s worth it because you learn about yourself. I learned that I hate making documentaries. 7 years ago
