Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

waiting to find out if we can get a new mortgage :) 18 months ago

koibito_k8Signed the lease

We signed the lease and got the keys today! Unfortunately our property manager had fairly poor customer service skills and made us wait 25mins before taking us in to sign the paperwork. Then she quickly rushed through everything with us before dashing out of the room. Like sure, I can understand if you are busy, but then get somebody else to help you so that we aren’t left in a dizzy spin.

I still haven’t seen inside the house. I will be heading straight over there after work to unload my car. We thoughtfully packed both cars full yesterday afternoon so that we could head straight over after getting the keys.

I’m so excited! PLUS we got approved for a 12month lease (love it) and got permission to get a second cat!! 20 months ago

koibito_k8Yay!

We were approved for a house on Monday and we’ll be signing the lease and getting the keys this coming Monday. It’s a 2 bedroom house and we were hoping to find a 3 bedda, but we couldn’t find a suitable one. So we resorted to a 2 bedda that has a much smaller yard than our current house and it also has an outdoor spa! There’s a lot of things to like about this house, although I haven’t even seen the inside. S. inspected it when I was at work but I trust his opinion. The outside looks nice and the yard is going to be a helluva lot easier to maintain…which was the main issue with our current house.

Now we are busy packing and getting ready to move. Can’t wait till Monday! 21 months ago

MsMeffieAchieved once again

We moved on the 19th December, a bit hectic but was lovely to be here by Christmas :)

Im hoping we get to spend a few years here at least as its comfortable, spacious, close to the kids school, in a nice area and basically suits our needs down to the ground at the moment. Im really happy to be here and so fingers crossed that it will be home for a while 22 months ago

Kate1978Somewhere to move to

Found a couple of houses in nice neighbourhoods in our price range.

The next piece of the jigsaw is to sell this one. Argh! 2 years ago

OsisIsis7777Today's the day...

I’m so eager to get into my new place and cross this off of my list. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to use the internet for a few days but that’s not really a big deal. Anyways, I’ve hit a few snags on the way to completing this goal. The latest being that I can’t find the old blinds that belong to the landlord for my room meaning he will take that money out of my bond. GRR lol. Oh well, cn’t be helped. BUT today and tomorrow are going to be EXHAUSTING. I’ve worked six nights in a row and after work for most nights been packing and cleaning then 2 days of moving, then back to work for 4 more shifts. GOD tired aint the word lol. Anyways I’ll soon be crossing u off MOVE. So peace out lol. x x x 2 years ago

Yayuh__I did it

I only moved across the road but it was from a flat to a house and the extra space is well worth all the stressing out!

It was very stressful, trying to sort things out, plus we had people interfering and we didn’t go about moving out of our flat the right way but it all worked out in the end! we’ve been here three weeks now and everything is going perfectly :) I love our new home! 2 years ago

Yayuh__:)

Well today, my boyfriend and i went to look at a house. It is literally over the road from us but it’s perfect! More space and it has a little garden which will be perfect in the summer. We have shown our interest and we just have to fill in the application forms and hopefully that should get the ball rolling! :) So excited! :D 2 years ago
