How I did it: I learnt to read music before I went to school, about the same time that I learnt to read. But they're actually kind of the same - you're really slow at first, and it's soo frustrating. Like how you have to break down words, you have to keep saying the name of the note in your head as you see it until you get faster and faster at recognising them.
