How I did it: I called in a took a week off from work; I hadn't had one in a while. I planned it so that my vacation from my internship was the same week, just to get those few extra days of doing nothing in. We went swimming at the rec center and to the beach every day but one. How I did it: Stayed at the Chautauqua Institute in a fabulous inn...you pay a gate fee to get into the Institute and there are lecturers from all over the world speaking on interesting topics. How I did it: Basically in no time at all. We said, "let's do it." and we did it. And we had some amazing experiences along the way. I also did a lot of pre-planning, to be fair. How I did it: My fiance's father lives in New York so we were able to go visit him while I was on Spring Break. We were able to get relatively cheap plane tickets (Continental is AWESOME, btw) and since we had a place to stay and food to eat, everything was fairly inexpensive. How I did it: My boyfriend and I saved up our cash and took a week long trip to Florida while I was on winter break. We stayed with his sister and brother-in-law which saved a lot of cash and was a ton of fun! It was in the mid sixties to lower seventies the whole time, and Floridians thought it was cold, but we Chicagoans were enjoying the beaches and not at all missing the -25 degree windchill back home that week.
