How I did it: I changed my working environment. It used to be that whenever I had studying or work to do, I'd try to do it in my apartment. I tried cleaning my desk, cleaning my room, changing my room's arrangement, changing the lighting, and playing music.
Changing the lighting actually helped a little. I seemed to get tired sooner with CFL lighting than with halogen lighting. Halogen incandescents helped me stay awake instead of fall asleep while attempting to study, but nothing really did the trick.
One day, I tried bringing my netbook and a pair of headphones to the library. I worked, and I got my work done.
It didn't seem to matter how many people were around or how noisy it was in the library, so it wasn't a social response. The change in location just completely changed my mindset. Read how I did it… 5 months ago

I was actually going very well for a few days and I improved and learned in those days which meant a lot to me. But I got distracted on the other days. I’ll give it an other shot this week. 15 months ago
Today I couldn’t make it because:
1)
I dont know why I am stopping to do my work an essay for example at the moment I get things really flowing. When I’m just ready to write it I tend to give a break. It is a very strong urge verry hard to overcome.
I think my body is just too used to leave things to the last minute. I’m a perfectionist type of procrastinator. But I just cant efford to procratinate that much. Also after a break it is never the same. I forget what to write and I cant think the same way after a break.
How I hope to make it tomorrow:
When I have the same urge tomorrow I will not leave my work. I will try to keep focused and write for 5-10 minutes. After that I hope that the urge will dissappear just as forgetting being hungry I hope. After the urge leaves me I hope I can continue doing good/better work.

I’ll plan my breaks and don’t wait to be in the mood for studying. I would rather get myself in the mood in a certain time by some exercises I’ve seen on youtube. 15 months ago
Today I am trying to “get into the zone” to be more productive.
Here are simple tips about achievieng the state of flow that I found somewhere or just learn from my own expierience :
It is said that you need like about half an hour of uninterrupted period of time to get into this flow state but probably it is an individual thing.

Well…I have to admit that I failed in the last week.
This week must be better!
It is very important to start with a great Monday I think, so I will go to bed a little bit earlier and try to get some really good,long sleep!

Is there anyone who knows a working method?
I gave it a try to set my alarm to 45 min to work and 15 min to have a rest. It hekps a little bit, but there is something that stops me.
Generally i watch or read something irrelevant. I want to feel myself in peace when i go to my home evenings, and i want to be able to say “i did my best today”. 16 months ago

I tend to make mental roadblocks. I imagine things worse than they are.
Tonight I just sat down and forced myself to work, and what I got was more productivity than I’ve seen in a long, long time.

Got a few things crossed off the list today, and I got started on the google group (which is now going to be a facebook group) and the work-study thing!

- maybe ask tutors to send me the # of hours they worked for each area at the end of the month? that would make timecards SO MUCH EASIER.

Okay, this is the summer where I will FINALLY get my things organized and be really, truly ready when fall comes! I want to revamp my teaching stuff to finally get it how I want it, and I want to make the writing center better and more self-sustaning so that I can safely delegate more and focus on making things better rather than worrying about the day-to-day nonsense.
So here is my summer to-do list. I’ll probably write more about each item as I approach it, and I’ll take great pleasure in striking things off the list (and probably adding some things, too).
