Unlike most people cleaning a garage I’ve had to clean up about 30 litres of spilt honey as well as old junk.
I had to kill and remove a hive from a friend’s mother’s house a few months ago. After the deed was done I moved the hive into my garage and covered it with a sheet. Wax moths found a path in at some point and chewed through every single comb in the hive, spilling all the rancid honey in the process…
Yuk.
I’ve been pouring bentonite onto it but it’s going to be a hard slog cleaning all of it up. You live and learn I suppose.
On a related note: does anyone want some honey soaked cardboard boxes and old electrical appliances?

Sorry goal, this just isn’t working out for me. We can still be friends, right?

I’m almost finished sorting through the huge pile of cardboard boxes by the door. I’ve been tossing empty ones there in the hopes of using them when I start selling things on eBay. I just need to pull out the little Styrofoam peanuts and minimize their volume so that they can live on a shelf or counter instead of making an increasingly successful bid to dominate the garage.

The van parks in its half now and I can get to and use the work bench (which I would like to replace).
Work on the shelves this spring so we can find things without searching for hours.

I started cleaning my garage about 3 weeks ago. Then one night we heard a loud sound and it ended up being the coil on the garage door. So of course I called out the repairperson. He came to the house, went through the laundry room, opened the door to the garage and then laughed. He actually laughed loud! He said mam you give me a call when it is actually safe for me to enter and I will gladly fix your garage door! Of course I tried to show him the path I had made him to do his repairs but it didn’t work.
So now instead of out the garage door and to the garbage or thrift pile, it is through the laundry room ,into the kitchen, through the family room, into the living room ,down the entry way, out the front door, down the walkway, across the driveway,(of course tripping over the bikes), around the side of the house and finally to the garbage and giveaway piles.
All because I just couldn’t get rid of the stuff to begin with!

My garage has been the one place where EVERYTHING gets put when there is no other place for it. Thus…... it is filled, piled, crammed, stuffed FULL. No one will venture out there in case they get lost – especially since ‘search and rescue’ has refused to venture into my garage. This is something that must be done.

Get the parking half under control so the van can get in by the end of June.
