We need to collet around $125, 000. 00 for the construccion of a Church in Texas. I have decided after 35 yeras of working for the industry in Corporate America, lo leave the nets and follow Jesus and dedicate myself to a new business. I have created in contract manufacturing business to be able to raise the $125, 000.00 as soon as possible. I am risking it all and I do not care about the consequences. I trust God. I just found out about a really cool website designed for teachers in need of classroom materials. The way the site works is a teacher will post a proposal on the site, and “donors” searching the site can give tax-deductible donations as little as $1 to the proposals of their choice. Proposals can really be anything, from pencils to a classroom computer. The main requirement is that the items requested directly benefit the students.

Personally, I am so excited a site like this exists for teachers. As it gets closer to September and I am shopping back to school supply sales I am reminded again of how quickly the small things add up and how unattainable some of the big things seem.

So, why am I posting this here for all of you to see? Well, maybe you were, are, know, or will be a teacher and could benefit from this site yourself. Or, maybe maybe you feel like helping out someone with a lot of good ideas, but not a lot of funds.

i still feel a little like i should be saving that money. or like maybe i could volunteer my time instead of donating? i don’t know. all the personal finance stuff i read seems to say that giving money is part of a healthy relationship with money. and i like this organization and want to see it succeed. so, it makes sense right? and it was such a small amount. i can afford this, i want giving to be part of my financial plan…

As a realtor I donate money after each sale. I donate 10% of my net commission back to a charity that my clients choose because I beleive in making a difference in the communities surrounding Atlanta.

My goal is $10,000 in 2008 and I would love your help. If you are looking at buying a home anywhere in the US let me refer you out to a friend and I’ll donate 10% of my referal fee back to a local charity that is important to you.

my friend’s wife is the founder of iHUG (International Help Uganda Grow foundation). it only costs $1 a day to sponsor a child. that’s less than what i spend at the vending machine most days…

what happens when you can’t continue to sponsor a child? to do: find out, figure out finances… i am hesitant to spend money b/c i am never sure whether i will have a job in the next month. maybe i should take this off my list and help in other ways.

this is great, i can actually afford this! i’ll do it right after vacation.

I have been helping others and tithing and it is so much better to give then to receive!!!

I have been donating money to my church when I go. I also am donating to Joyce Meyer’s on a monthly basis. I’m not completing this goal just jet because I would rather get a few more months under my belt before I feel it is solidified.

I donated money to Sick Kids Hospital. GO ME!

Every now and then when I’m buying something, sometimes I’ll put money in those little things by the cash registers. Or I will buy something that benefits other people or animals. That’s about as much donating as I do lol. Adn I go to certain benefits and dinners. Yep, that’s it, but I haven’t been doing much of anything lately…hmm gotta work on that
