Live in a lighthouse

For as long as I can remember I have dreamt of living in a lighthouse or a castle. Spiral stairs leading to the light at the top with a view that could captivate and still my active, overly introspective mind. The castle dream I believe came after the lighthouse one because of the idea of secret passages and potential for being surrounded by the water of a moat. Then I grew up, but still often found myself captivated with the imagery of those towers of light.

Now the lighthouse dream is back with a vengeance. Partly, I’m sure, because I lived on an island for 3 yrs a long time ago and miss the sounds and smell of the ocean. Possibly because I am on my own now, at 50 yrs old and always having known I had the soul of an artist, even if I neglected to feed that part of me much of the time, it seems like it would be a setting that would fulfill that need and sooth my wandering spirit at the same time.

There is a lighthouse on Alcatraz. So technically all those guys who were in prison there lived in a lighthouse. Sort of. If there is one lighthouse in the world that I don’t want to live in, it’s that one.

The salty sea below, the beam of guiding light above, the solitude, all this brings a sense of longing and adventure. I’m a hopeless romantic, but why wouldn’t I want to be, lol. Sigh…

It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a lighthouse for sale in a magazine. 695,000 sterling! I’m having trouble taking a picture of the picture…. sorry!! :(

..if i could achieve this goal it would help out with loads of others too. For a start i would be saving peoples lives on a pretty much continual basis. It would also assist in the getting fit department assuming that the lighthouse wouldnt have an elevator. Also, I would have to assume that a prolonged stay in such a place would produce at least one shark sighting. Sure it may take a bit of baiting…do sharks like sausages? I bet they do! And given the lack of a local shop it would make giving up cigarettes a darned sight easier.
Living in a lighthouse would turn me into a 43Things SuperHero.

..and read this goal wrong. I was wondering why on earth i wanted to live in a greenhouse, you couldn’t throw stones or anything. Then I read it again.
