wildcreationsDoes a hat count as clothes?

I’ve knitted myself a hat (see under learn to knit again).
I’m very pleased with it, but does it count as clothes? 3 months ago

Yesterday I carried out a little maintenance on my machine. It had gotten very dusty, what with being locked away for months and then boxed for the move.
I haven’t yet found a home for my sewing things here, but I may do later today.

In the moving boxes I found the Sewaholic Renfrew pattern that I bought a while ago, so have decided to give it a go :)
I haven’t got a cheap knit in my stash to use as a muslin, but I plan on taking this one slow and referencing sewing blogs on how they did pieces of it; so hopefully it will be wearable on the first try! And being a knit, it should be pretty forgiving if I get the sizing wrong.

Today’s mission: cut out the pattern pieces :D 5 months ago

I can already sew a little. I helped my mom sew my Easter dresses and things when I was little, then I took sewing lessons in my teens. I have made dolls and things and a few tops, but I’d like to make whole outfits from organic material and learn to dye them naturally. 12 months ago

DouglasI am making progress

I and slowly learning about how to sew. I went to the Sewing and Enbroidery Expo over this weekend. I have also been looking at some books on fabric (e.g. “All About Cotton”, “All About Wool”).
My current plan is to make an apron for myself. I cook a lot and can always use another one. Still a ways off from making one since I don’t have a sewing machine yet. But I am giving this goal energy. 13 months ago

niekoolienNot really

Not really for me. I have many nice ideas but not the patience to actually sit down and do it. I made a few clothes in sewing class, they didnt quite looked like what i had in mind. I’m never gonna be making my clothes. Maybe in the future i’ll make something again, but buying, borrowing and recycling seems to be my best way to go. 15 months ago
