Oh Pimsleur is awesome. It’s so helpful getting to listen to the language, much easier than trying to decipher a pronunciation guide and guess if you’re doing it right.

I want to learn to write and read too… I think I’m just going to have to keep this on my list til I’m conversational? Ha… such a lofty goal..?

Hmmm. 11 months ago

When should I mark this as done? I’ve learnt some Japanese, just very basic “Hello” “How are you?” “Where is Shinjuku avenue?” type stuff… But, of course, I want to learn more eventually.

this might sound weird but i actually learned a few words and sentences by watching anime series such as sailor moon and Ah! My Goddess hehe i really wana do this!

I've been using Pimsleur. 1 year ago

I prefer it to the podcast now. The podcast (Japanese101) is more fun but the Pimsleur one makes you repeat everything about a million times so you really get used to it. I can now have a very short conversation in Japanese :D

drive-time Japanese 2 years ago

it was impulse shopping. i allways wanted to learn some japanese. why not now?
i like drive-time learning (it is actually ironing-time, washingDishes-time etc.). it consists of 4 CD’s and a booklet. when i finish all 4 CD-s i’ll consider this goal completed.

Yay! For Podcasts. 2 years ago

I found a great podcast for learning Japanese and I know a small amount now. If my memory was less sieve-like I’d know more, lol.

Here’s the podcast, it’s very well laid out and the people are fun. I really recommend it!
