I still want to read all of his novels. But I want to read them because they’re interesting, not just for the sake of being a completionist about it. So I’m still planning on this happening, I’m just closing the door on planning to do it.

I read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep in high school for a Science Fiction Literature class (I took so many english electives in high school… it truly was a little rediculous).
I also read some of his short stories at the same time, my favorite being (I think) called “All You Zombies”.
And a couple of years ago I read Valis, which was interesting. I don’t know if someone had warned me early on about Horselover and the narrator, but it seemed very obvious to me what was going on for some reason, which I think left me with a very different reading than most people.
There’s something to Dick’s plurality that I really enjoy, both in Valis and in Zombies. So I’m definately into reading the pieces that are more like that. The others I’d like to get around to eventually, but are less inherently compelling to me.

I just finished reading this one. I enjoyed it: another Dickian study in reality. As always, the story can be either a story or a mind-bender. Just depends what you want from it.
Finishing this one means that now I’ve completed all of the PKD books in my local library. It’s all inter-library loan from here on out.

I’m reading Voices from the Street right now.
Naturally my pace is slow with the baby and all, but I can’t help but imagine that this wouldn’t’ve ever been published had it not been written by Philip K. Dick. I’m still reading because I’ve seen a few good reviews of it, so it must get better.

So now I should make some better headway on this.

This has been difficult. The local library has most of its collection in storage because of some construction. All but two or three of Dick’s books are in storage. Oh well.

Keeping track of my progress here:

The disenheartening thing about it is that it seems like for every book I check off, my progress actually goes down over time. I know for a fact that I was up to 22% at one time. Very odd, in a PKD sort of way. No?
