take pictures again

So two people I know, who aren’t even that into taking pictures have recently been given killer high end SLR cameras, both digital, from their boyfriends. People here make way too much money, I have this old manual SLR (Pentax P3) I bought second hand 5 years ago. So ya, I’m jealous. Everyone’s a photographer now.

This is one of my “passions” that I let drift away It’s a fire I want to relight.

I am so excited! My sister-in-law is getting married, and she has asked me to take black and white pictures at her wedding. I am honored that she asked me. I pray that I can take good ones for her that will forever mark her memorable day. I called my brother to reaffirm that I would be decent for the job since I took pictures for his wedding as well.

I was also asked to take member pictures for my church as well. I have enjoyed the work and the experience. I just hope everyone likes their pictures. I am having trouble with underexposure though. I’ll have to check my aperature and meter readings, I guess.

It’s been almost over two years since I have taken any pictures. However, I have found myself less overwhelmed since I quit my job. This past year (2005), I picked up my camera again and took pictures (mostly family shots). Now, I just have to get new batteries. Darn those lithium batteries! I hope the pictures of family gatherings have turned out. Last year. DH’s sister ntoiced I didn’t have my camera for the Christmas Eve get together. I made sure I had it this year. I’ve shot about fifteen rolls of film. Now to get those suckers developed….
