amnesiacangel is trying to quit smoking
It’s harmful to my health.
sunshineKid is eating far too much!
I used to drink a lot of coffee, like a lot. And then something nasty happened a year ago and my heart went a bit crazy and I had to have some scans done and it wasnt good, and the thing that kept popping up was that my heart problem cold be made worse by caffeine. so i stopped. and it was weird! I didnt realise how much I relied on it for energy so it took a while to get used to it but I havent had a coffee for almost a year :) and (fingers crossed) my heart is ok :)
I do drink coke but no heaps of it and that doesnt affect me so thatscool
I don’t remember why I said college would be harder, because its definitely not. I think I drank one Coke on like the third day, but since then, nothing. Actually, at every single meal here I drink cranberry juice because I feel like it is the only nutritious part of my meals.
I think if I go until Thanksgiving without drinking any caffeine, I will take this off the list. Because the most I have ever drank caffeine in the past 5 years is MAYBE once a month, and it is never out of first choice, but rather because that is all that is offered and I am fucking thirsty.
makes this goal like a million bazillion times harder. I NEVER drank caffeine at home, but there are so many times here when the only beverage available to me is a coke or some other kind of caffeinated pop. I think as long as it is only 1/week or less, I will be OK with it and still allow myself to say that I completed this goal.
superwoman1984 is making her list better
Allbeit they are not breast cancer lumps, who wants lumpy breasts? Meanwhile, lack of caffeine can make you dizzy, have a headache, and make you drowsy (at first)...who needs that kind of dependency?
I was seriously addicted to caffeine—drinking sometimes as much as two 2-liter bottles of diet coke a day.
About five weeks ago I decided to quit, being sick of all the ups-and-downs in energy levels and the insomnia. I went cold-turkey, muddling my way through 4 days of headaches before finally coming out the other side—I think this worked better than the other times I’ve tried to quite (by slowly reducing intake) because I now have a strong negative deterrent.
The end result? I’ve found that it’s easier to sleep at night and (paradoxically) easier to remain “awake” during the day. Plus, I probably save $5 a day doing this, adding up to almost $2000 a year. Definitely worthwhile.
I stopped drinking all kind of caffeine (pop and coffee) 4 years ago, but there are so many situations where you feel like you have to drink a pop or coffee out of politeness or convenience. Ultimately, I end up drinking probably just 1 caffeinated drink a month, but after I do, I always feel so bad about doing it because I would love to just drink water so much more. I’m fine with how I have been doing, but it would be nice to stop drinking them altogether.
hah so i was never addicted to caffeine until i started working at starbucks. now, although im not ‘addicted’, as in i don’t HAVE to have it everyday or anything like that, i still drink it waay to much and have literally OD on it at times. not only is it a bad habit i’ve realized, but also one more way that fast-paced modern society has succeeded in controlling peoples’ lives. so, today i’m stopping. glad to see others doing the same! the beginning of the end starts now. :)
Ok so I drink too much soda and tea.. so i’m switching to non-caffeine soda like sprite and cutting out the tea starting today. I’m gonna do this for 7 days and see how I feel
well im back on caffine, so im trying to get off again.
It started with diet coke and green tea then coffee. Even if i can just start by giving up coffee.
